Betty Weaver Bowen

Betty Bowen, age 89, entered her heavenly home on June 1, 2026. Betty lived a life defined by unwavering faith, selfless service, and deep love for her family, friends, church, and community. She was a woman of quiet strength and humble spirit whose kindness and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. The community will gather to pay their respects and celebrate Betty’s remarkable life with a visitation held at The Well at Centerville, located at 600 N Houston Lake Boulevard, Centerville, Georgia, on June 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. The final resting tribute will take place shortly thereafter at Parkway Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Stephen Bowen, Sr.

She was lovingly raised by William O. Beasley Sr. and Eloise Beasley, whom she considered her parents. She grew up alongside their children, who became her brothers and sisters in every way that mattered. Throughout her life, she treasured the love and support of both the family into which she was born and the family who raised her, remaining deeply connected to both. Betty worked faithfully throughout her life in a variety of roles, including positions with Betz Laboratories, serving as a CPA for Blanche’s Fashion Boutique, Houston County Water System, and Gas and Transmission Line. However, one of her most meaningful callings was serving as treasurer of her church for several decades, where her dedication, dependability, and servant’s heart touched countless lives. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and hospitality, always filled with family, friends, and anyone who needed a meal, a listening ear, or a helping hand. She loved cooking for others and found great happiness in caring for those around her.One of Betty’s proudest accomplishments was recognizing the need for a Methodist church in the growing city of Centerville. She went door to door gathering support and played an instrumental role in helping establish Centerville United Methodist Church. She remained an active and devoted member of her church, participating in numerous groups, ministries, and organizations. She enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowerbeds, shopping, and spending time at the beach. Wherever she went, she carried a smile, a kind word, and a genuine concern for others. To know Betty was to witness true selflessness. She would gladly give the shirt off her back to someone in need, never seeking recognition or praise. In fact, she was often uncomfortable when attention was directed toward her. Her humility, generosity, and quiet strength were evident in every aspect of her life. She lived her faith not only through words but through a lifetime of service to God, her family, her church, and her community.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Bowen Jr., daughter, Alyson (Bob) Karlinski; grandchildren: Blake (Mary Beth Watson) Bowen Brooke (Caleb) McKeever, and Evan Karlinski; and one cherished great-granddaughter, Emersyn McKeever. She is survived by her sister, Mildred “Bobbie” Beasley Brown, along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews from the Beasley family. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Freida Hall, Janette Lann, and Linda Collins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen Bowen Sr., with whom she shared a devoted marriage from June 3, 1955, until his passing in 2010. Also, by her adopted parents; brothers: William O. Beasley Jr. and Luther Jefferson “Jeff” Beasley; sisters: Louise “Noogie” Beasley Hardin, Mary Helen “Totsy” Beasley Ross, and Margaret “Quinelle” Beasley Miller; biological parents, Jim Henry Weaver and Alice Naomi “Doshie” Peacock Weaver; stepmother, Nina Mae Cook Brantley Weaver; biological brothers: Clyde Weaver, Corris Weaver, and Gerald “Snig” Weaver; sisters: Mary Weaver Savage and Jimmie Sue Weaver Savage; and a host of nieces and nephews from the Weaver family. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be missed beyond measure. Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing that she is rejoicing in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, whom she put above all else. We celebrate a life well lived and a faith well kept.

Please sign the online registry and leave a personal condolence for the family.

Robert Lowell Knupp

Robert Lowell Knupp, a man whose life was marked by unwavering kindness, devotion, and service, passed away on May 25, 2026, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Born on September 16, 1944, in Frankfort, Kentucky, Robert, or Bob as he was warmly known to many, carried with him a spirit that truly embodied the essence of a life well-lived.

Throughout his years, Robert dedicated himself primarily to a career in insurance sales, where his positive attitude and great smile made a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional endeavors, he embraced a higher calling as an ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, living a life deeply rooted in faith and compassion. He was ordained by Evangelist Richard Roberts, who became a great and dear friend throughout his life. Those who had the privilege of knowing him often remarked that he never met a stranger, his warm demeanor and genuine care for others shining through every interaction. Robert was deeply loyal to those he cared about, and his unwavering devotion to his friends was a true reflection of his kind and steadfast character. Robert valued education and pursued an associate degree from Belmont College in 1967, which broadened his perspective and enriched his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Outside his work and ministry, he found great joy in golf and in the simple yet profound pleasure of helping others, reflecting his generous nature and zest for life. Robert was an avid golfer whose talent and passion for the game earned him the opportunity to be selected for the Cleveland Pro-Am. However, after suffering a stroke, he was unfortunately unable to pursue that opportunity. Even so, his love for golf never faded. Robert was also known for his extreme loyalty to his friends, always offering unwavering support, kindness, and a dependable presence to those fortunate enough to know him.

He is lovingly remembered by his spouse of 22 years, Dylette "Dee" Knupp, who stood by his side through life’s many seasons. Their family was further blessed with the love of his eldest daughter, Melanie Knupp, brother, Gary Knupp; and his youngest daughter, Elizabeth (Todd) McCarthy, which had his three beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas McCarthy, Michael McCarthy, and Madison McCarthy. Robert’s extended family including his niece, Julie (John) Broth, and Jeff Hammond, whom he proudly raised and loved as his own, also mourn the loss of a beloved family member whose presence was a source of strength and joy.

In addition to his immediate family, Robert’s life was enriched by the devoted care of Georgy Jones, who played a vital role as his caretaker and became a close friend during his final days. The compassionate team at Family Hospice in Macon, Georgia—Danielle, Heather, Corey, and others at Warner Robins Rehabilitation Center, including, Nurse Josephine and the CNA Quinton —provided essential support and comfort, embodying the same kindness that Robert showed so freely to others. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Wilda Knupp, who lovingly shaped his early years and instilled in him the values that guided his meaningful journey.

Reverend William T. Martin, Sr.

Reverend William T. Martin, Sr. (a/k/a Bro. Bill and Pastor Bill Martin) punched his ticket to the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of May 21, 2026 after a “pre-glory” celebration with many of his friends and parishioners in his room at Emory Perry Hospital. He has now joined Patricia, his wife of nearly 66 years and his first-born son, William, Jr., in eternal life with the Lord. It is now truly well with his soul.

A visitation for friends and family will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026 between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service is planned for Thursday, May 28, 2026 in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home at 2:30 PM with Reverend Mike Parker officiating. A private burial will be held at Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Rev. Martin’s honor to the church of your choice.

Rev. Martin was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, and went to Marietta High School where he excelled in sports, especially football. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force where he was promptly sent to serve in the Korean War. After service in Korea, he met and married the love of his life Patricia and they spent the next 15 years traveling together as he was assigned posts all around the world. During this period, they had their two sons, William, Jr. and James.

Rev. Martin retired from the Air Force at Robins Air Force Base in July of 1975 and promptly devoted his life to the ministry becoming one of the most tenured pastors in the Rehoboth Baptist Association during the 1980s and 1990s based on his service to the congregation of his beloved Sandy Valley Baptist Church. Because ministers can never really retire, he continued to serve the interim needs of many small congregations throughout middle Georgia. He even served the ministerial needs of his fellow residents at Antebellum Grove for the last six years of his life.

At the time the Lord called him home, Pastor Bill had worked in the ministry for 51 years, as well as driving a van for the Senior Citizens of Middle Georgia and Groome Transportation which gave him countless additional opportunities to share the love of Jesus throughout the middle Georgia area. Through this one man, God has truly reached and saved thousands. His message will always be that heaven is real, that hell is real and the Bible is the true, accurate and inspired will of God and should be the guidebook of your life.

Rev. Martin leaves behind a son, James D. Martin (Barbara), and a daughter-in-law (Meredith Martin), grandchildren Ashley Heckman (Tyler), Marshall Miller (Johnna) and Cameron Starnes, great grandchildren Hudson Heckman, Sullivan Heckman, Beau Heckman, Kurtis Miller, Wyatt Starnes, Zane Starnes, and great-great grandchild Grafton Miller. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patricia and son, William T. Martin, Jr.

To God be the glory!
