A random oh heyyyy photo dump.
Resting bitch face at a birth while I was observing quietly and waiting (I promise I’m nice. 😂)
Good eats at dose.
A calming beautiful tree.
My funniest cousin IYKYK college graduation with my Mom.
Coffee break at a birth while my client is resting.
Mothering, basketball celebratory dinners & movie dates.
The R&B tour with my mom & sister.
Belly binding workshop with SMC Mama Shafia, then making their postpartum training flyer was so cool.
Memories from Ecuador (trip I never posted about here). The culture, the people, the morning walk with Natacha, being unapologetically black. I miss it.
Wrapped in Love hosted a baby wearing workshop with some amazing people. My daughter got in on the action, time to put her to work and then showing my friend what we learned.
From working The Blueprint conference to my youngest cousin graduation party and their dog dressed for the occasion. Go Spartans.
Celebrating my grandfather’s birthday. My grandparents are my home.
Helping postpartum can be organizing and building while a client bonds with their baby.
A beautiful view in the postpartum room from yesterday birth, great sunlight for baby.
As I put a baby to sleep, my scattered, Type B, undiagnosed ADHD brain wanted to send this update & reminder into the world
Life can feel heavy. Sometimes for obvious reasons. Sometimes for reasons we can’t quite explain.
Find whatever brings you joy.
Whatever gives you hope.
Whatever makes you laugh.
Whatever fills your cup, even just a little.
Don’t wait for life to slow down before you allow yourself to enjoy it.
And to my birthing and parenting families…
Trust your instincts.
Your providers are trained in their fields, yes. But that does not erase the wisdom you have or your intuition. If something doesn’t feel right, ask questions and again. Get more information. Advocate for yourself. Your care team doesn’t have to agree with every decision you make, but they should absolutely respect your right to make informed choices.
Okay, that’s enough from your doula who is really bad at remembering to post on social media. 🖤
