We are saddened to announce that Cherille L. Paruch of Shelby Township, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026, at the age of 76.

Cherille passed away leaving behind a legacy of selfless devotion, brilliance, and warmth. A proud Detroit Public Schools educator, she was beloved as one of the finest elementary school teachers around. Cherille's creativity and compassion touched countless students. She wrote and illustrated her own classroom books and often welcomed less fortunate children into her home, making sure they felt loved and remembered. Former students continued to write to her for years, reminding her of the lasting impact she had on their lives.

Cherille's heart was as extraordinary as her mind. She devoted herself to caring for those she loved, including her first husband, Paul, during his illness and her mother through cancer. She brought joy and laughter wherever she went, with her unforgettable laugh, love of Polish food, and passion for The Rolling Stones.

Cherille lived with vibrant style and an adventurous spirit. Red was her signature color, and she even wore a red dress when she married Art. Above all, she was a devoted mother, loving wife, loyal friend, and comforting presence whose wisdom, fierce love, and laughter will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
