My daughter picked out this great cat (2017). He came to us as Inigo Montoya, which i thought was a bit much. She renamed him Domino. He came from Middleburg Humane Foundation, a feral litter found in a tree that was extremely sickly and fragile. As a tiny kitten he had lots of meds (which he hated) and lived right next to all the dogs. Domino is a great cat, but if I tried to keep him inside against his will he would literally climb the walls. And he has no qualms about poking me unexpectedly in the back with his claws if I’m late letting him out. Let’s just say we would not succeed if he were forced to be an indoor cat. He will be my last outdoor cat though. A few years ago he began accompanying me every morning on my walk to the Park. The Park community know his name and love him too. In May, Domino had some kind of car encounter. Our hypothesis is he got rolled. Lots of bruising but no broken bones or missing teeth. For 2 1/2 months Domino stayed inside. He was terrified if a car drove by. Then he started going out only at night when there was less traffic. Today he got brave and returned to the park with me. Two dog walkers I don’t usually converse with stopped and petted him and told him how happy they were he was back. A baby in a stroller chortled with joy to see him. The kids on the playground shouted the standard “look, a kitty!” On our way home a car slowed way down, dog in the back seat, (headed to the park) and the driver (who i didn’t recognize) said she was so glad to see him back out. Sometimes it doesn’t take a lot to be an inspiration to others. Be yourself. Overcome those obstacles. Be you and live your best life. You only get one, unless you’re a cat ❤️. Hello I’m Domino. I came from West Virginia. Prepare to grow.
