Sometimes it really is a joke. Sometimes humor is the safest way someone knows how to say something that feels much harder out loud.
If someone jokes about su***de and something about it doesn’t sit right with you, it’s okay to check in.
Ask them directly. Listen without judgment. Let them know they don’t have to carry the moment alone.
You don’t need the perfect words to show someone you care. Sometimes simply taking them seriously can open the door to a conversation they needed. 🤍💚
