Scammers are still pretending to be Medicare—and they're getting more convincing.

If you receive an unexpected call, text, or email claiming there's a problem with your Medicare coverage or asking you to "verify" your Medicare number or bank information, don't respond. Medicare won't contact you out of the blue to ask for personal or financial information.

If you're unsure whether a message is legitimate, hang up and call 1-800-MEDICARE using the official number—not the one provided by the caller.
Don’t despair if you’ve been tricked into giving up your personal information. Call our confidential, toll-free helpline for assistance.
