Chicano Sol farm is located in rural Pa, and cultivates about 20 acres of certified organic produce, strawberries and melons. The farm was found in 2009 by Jarrah and Agustin Cernas, where they raised their two sons, Austin and Evin, who now help on the farm. We started selling at the Silver Spring FRESHFARM Market, and Tuscarora Organic Growers Cooperative. Currently we have a farm stand in Garrett Park MD on Saturdays and on Sundays we attend the FRESHFARM Dupont Circle Market, along with selling wholesale to Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative. Over the years the farm has grown from its original 3 acres and 5 greenhouses, to 12 greenhouses and nearly 20 acres of field production, and been certified organic from the beginning. Each season we try and experiment with a few new crops, in addition to our many customer favorites from our tasty tomatoes in all shapes, colors, flavors and sizes to a full line of herbs and salad greens.
Chicano Sol farm está ubicada en una zona rural de Pensilvania y cultiva alrededor de 20 acres de productos orgánicos certificados, fresas y melones. La granja fue fundada en 2009 por Jarrah y Agustín Cernas, donde criaron a sus dos hijos, Austin y Evin, quienes ahora ayudan en la granja. Comenzamos vendiendo en el mercado Silver Spring FRESHFARM y en la cooperativa Tuscarora Organic Growers. Actualmente tenemos un puesto de venta en Garrett Park, MD, los sábados, y los domingos asistimos al mercado FRESHFARM Dupont Circle, además de vender al por mayor a la cooperativa Lancaster Farm Fresh. A lo largo de los años, la granja ha crecido desde sus 3 acres originales y 5 invernaderos, hasta 12 invernaderos y casi 20 acres de producción en campo, y ha estado certificada como orgánica desde el principio. Cada temporada tratamos de experimentar con algunos cultivos nuevos, además de los muchos favoritos de nuestros clientes, desde nuestros deliciosos tomates en todas las formas, colores, sabores y tamaños, hasta una línea completa de hierbas y verduras para ensalada.
