We have become too obsessed with the short term, with quarterly results and election cycles. But nature does not work in quarters. A forest does not grow in a year. A child does not become a citizen overnight. The most important work we do is the work whose results we may never live to see. Plant those seeds anyway. Lay those foundations anyway. That is the very definition of legacy.
