I once heard a yoga teacher say “go to the ocean inside you,” and it felt just right to me. I don’t live on the California Coast anymore, I can’t just roll up to the shore and hear the ever comforting sound of the waves. I can however always, at least try to, be present in the “now” of ME. I do have the knowledge that I’m beyond my physical form, that which is truly me is vast and deep, much like the ocean. When I “tap in” to the present me, there is a peace and love for myself which feels close to the experience I get from being at home on the sand, by the ocean. Going “deeper still,” in me brings to light the truth that I am just as magnificent as the ocean, I’m just learning how to be and how to express that which is pure inside me. I believe everyone has this ocean of joy, love, and peace—these qualities of being that are beyond emotion (learning from Eckhart Tolle’s book “The Power of Now”) at the core of who they are. It’s my joy to tap in with others and help them experience the power of their NOW.
