Prostate Health Matters Foundation Helping men take control of their prostate health before cancer takes control of them.

Through community outreach, education, advocacy, awareness, and action, we empower men and families to make informed decisions and prioritize early PSA detection.

Our mission is simple: help more men catch prostate cancer before it's too late.

At Prostate Health Matters, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against prostate cancer. Too many men delay getting screened because they don't know their risk, they don't understand the importance of their PSA number, or they believe they'll have symptoms if something is wrong.

The reality is that prostate cancer often develops silently. And that's why we're committed to empowering men to take charge of their health through education, advocacy, community outreach, and early detection.

Every conversation we start, every event we host, and every PSA screening we encourage is driven by one goal: helping men make informed decisions that could save their lives.

Two generations. Two prostate cancer diagnoses. Two survivor stories.

Nearly 20 years after my father's diagnosis, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer myself. Because of advances in screening, early detection, and treatment, my cancer was caught earlier, and my recovery looked very different than his.
I underwent a robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy, and the technology available today helped me recover much faster than previous generations could have imagined.

Today, my father and I are both living proof that prostate cancer is not the end of the story.
I'm proud to be a 10-year prostate cancer survivor, and even more grateful that we're both still here living life, making memories, and encouraging other men to take their health seriously.

Early detection changes lives.

"Prostate cancer stopped me in my tracks."

For Ken Griffey Sr., the diagnosis didn't just affect his health, it affected his willingness to talk about it. That's a feeling many men understand.

Even if we don't want to admit it, fear and uncertainty can keep us from getting the prostate screening. But prostate cancer doesn't wait, and neither should you.

One of the most powerful things you can do is take the first step: know your PSA number. A simple blood test can provide valuable information about your prostate health and help detect potential concerns early.

Don't let fear keep you from getting screened.

What is your “why?”

Dr. Gregory Stanislaus tells us about what kept him going and motivated after receiving his diagnosis with prostate cancer.

"As soon as you hear the word *cancer*, fear is going to hit you."
Fear doesn't make you weak. It's what you choose to do after that fear that matters.

When Gregory was diagnosed, he focused on his *why*. His reason for facing treatment was bigger than his fear of it.

Today, six years later, that "why" has become moments he might have otherwise missed—welcoming two new grandchildren, celebrating one daughter graduating from medical school and another from law school, and simply being here to enjoy life with the people he loves.

If you've been putting off a screening because you're afraid of what you might hear, please don't let fear make your decision for you. Think about your *why* and the memories still waiting to be made.

Know your PSA. Get screened.

I'm honored to have been interviewed for a health publication that reaches thousands of physicians across the country.

Every opportunity to share my story is an opportunity to raise awareness about prostate cancer, encourage early detection, and help more men navigate life after a diagnosis.

As an 8-year prostate cancer survivor, this mission is deeply personal. If my experience can help even one man get screened earlier, ask more questions, or feel less alone in his survivorship journey, then sharing my story is worth it.

My message is simple:
Know your PSA number.

A simple blood test can provide critical information about your prostate health and help detect potential concerns before symptoms ever appear.

Don't wait. Make the appointment. Know your numbers. It could save your life.

"I was shocked. How in the world could I have cancer when I feel so great?"

That's the reality of prostate cancer for many men. Feeling healthy doesn't always mean everything is healthy.
Prostate cancer can develop quietly, without pain or noticeable symptoms, which is why so many men don't realize anything is wrong until they're screened.

The good news is that early detection can make a significant difference. Knowing your PSA number starts with a simple blood test that can help detect potential concerns before they become more serious.
Don't wait until your body tells you something is wrong.

Know your family history.
Know your PSA number. G
ive yourself the best opportunity to catch prostate cancer early.

What's stopping you from getting your PSA checked?

It's a simple blood test that takes just a few minutes, but it could save your life.

The reality is that 75% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer are asymptomatic, meaning yhey don't feel sick or have any pain. They don't realize anything is wrong until their PSA begins to change.

This is something I know firsthand because prostate cancer has affected three generations of my family. Early detection through a PSA test made all the difference in my own journey.

I urge all men, don't wait for symptoms. Please, don't just assume you're okay because you feel okay.

Know your family history. Know your PSA number. Take control of your health today.

Men, go get tested.
