National Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NFHAAD) is observed annually on the last Sunday of August (August 30, 2026). Founded in 2017, this observance unites diverse faith communities to promote HIV/AIDS education, prevention, treatment, and support while working to eliminate virus-related stigma and discrimination in congregations. This report tracks the fiscal health of AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs) — the lifeline providing HIV treatment to low-income, uninsured, and underinsured people across all 50 states, D.C., and U.S. territories.

The latest data (43 reporting jurisdictions):
📉 15 ADAPs project a budget deficit for the current fiscal year — down from 19 in April
⚖️ 23 programs report balanced budgets, 5 anticipate a surplus
💊 Rising drug costs remain the #1 driver of deficits, cited by 87% of programs facing shortfalls
⏳ Iowa and Utah continue to operate active waiting lists for services
