Our patients ask daily "does shockwave therapy hurt?"
The answer is: shockwave therapy can feel intense, but it shouldn't be unbearable.
Depending on the condition and treatment area, patients may feel tapping, pulsing, pressure, or a deep, intense sensation during treatment.
At Release PT, we use both focal shockwave therapy (ESWT) and radial pressure wave therapy, with treatment parameters adjusted to the individual patient and condition.
We can adjust the intensity as needed.
Shockwave therapy is commonly used as part of physical therapy treatment for conditions including tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, chronic muscle and tendon pain, pelvic pain, and many more musculoskeletal conditions.
