Grief looks different on everybody.

And I wouldn’t wish grief on my enemy… whoever you may be.

I know what it’s like to get stuck in it.

When grief found me, I knew I couldn’t build a home there. I had to find my way out.

I wouldn’t even let my mother succumb to it. We were mourning things that many people have never experienced and may never experience in this lifetime. There weren’t many people who could show us the way because there weren’t many people who came from what we came from.

But we did.

We found our way.

We danced…
until sorrow remembered joy.

So that’s my message for you:

Dance until your sorrow turns to joy.

Not because the pain never happened.
Not because you forgot.
But because your spirit deserves to remember that life still knows your name.

Rose is medicine✨

Long before wellness became a trend, our people knew how to work with the spirit of the rose to cleanse, soften, release, and call ourselves back home.

This Rose Cleansing & Breaking Ceremony is an old skool practice I inherited from my Native lineage. A prayer in motion. A way of breaking what no longer belongs to you without breaking yourself.

Sometimes the healing isn’t loud.
Sometimes it’s a single rose…
and the willingness to let go.
