Access to mental health care in Washington, D.C. remains out of reach for too many. And right now, with supports being cut at the local and federal level, the stakes for our most vulnerable neighbors have never been higher.

The Washington Informer recently told the story of Ivan Taylor, a D.C. native and former McClendon Center client, whose journey through trauma, incarceration, and recovery shows what becomes possible when the right support finally shows up.

A better future is possible β€” and stories like Ivan's prove it.

Behind every person who walks through our doors is someone at McClendon Center showing up for them: fully present and fully committed.

This month, we're proud to celebrate Margaret, our May Staff Shout-Out Awardee!

From walking alongside clients through sobriety journeys and navigating grief to simply holding space for them to be heard, Margaret brings her whole heart to this work every single day.

Margaret, your clients feel your advocacy, and so do we. Thank you for the care, the dedication, and the difference you make.
