Night of Hope is our annual benefit reception where friends, partners, supporters, and community leaders come together to connect, hear stories, and support the work happening across DC.

This year, we’re gathering at a new location, the National Press Club, and welcoming Lesli Foster of WUSA9 as our Director of Ceremonies. We’re looking forward to an impactful evening.

Sometimes, staying healthy depends on more than what happens inside a doctor’s office.

For Joseph, having consistent access to healthcare has meant navigating Medicaid, managing medications, and finding support through some difficult moments. But one of the biggest barriers to staying connected to care turned out to be something surprisingly simple: having a working cellphone. With support from Community of Hope, a cellphone became a connection to the care and resources he depends on.

Joseph’s story is a reminder that the things standing between someone and their health aren’t always medical. Sometimes, removing a small everyday barrier can make a big difference.

Breastfeeding comes with questions, and sometimes, you just want a space where you can ask them.

Join Community of Hope’s WIC team on August 27 from 2–3:30 PM for One Big Breastfeeding Day, hosted by our Peer Breastfeeding Counselor, Tyshika.

This breastfeeding panel brings together nutritionists, midwives, and other members of our team for an open opportunity to learn, ask questions, share experiences, and connect with others. Come be part of the conversation.

For six-year-old Kilian, communication has always looked a little different. Before he could easily express his feelings with words, he found a way to show his mom what was happening inside through tiny clay faces. Over the years, his mother, Ferris, has learned to understand her son’s unique way of communicating and found a healthcare team that took the time to do the same.

From pregnancy and early childhood to autism evaluations and navigating sensory challenges at medical appointments, Community of Hope has been part of Ferris and Kilian’s journey for years.

Today, one of Ferris’ proudest moments is seeing how far Kilian has come, from struggling to enter a doctor’s office to being able to communicate when he needs to go.
