There's a moment that happens when PA educators find each other. Someone mentions a challenge they thought was unique to them — and suddenly they're talking to someone who's been there and wants to help.

That's what this community is. People who came from clinical practice, people who've been teaching for decades, all at different stages — but all in it together.

The more of us there are in the room, the stronger we all become.

98.2% of graduating PA students describe their program as fostering an inclusive learning environment.

While this reflects strong perceptions across programs, inclusive environments are something to continuously build, sustain, and examine.

During , this snapshot invites reflection on how learning environments shape belonging, growth, and preparation for practice.

Consider:
What does “inclusive” look like in your program day-to-day?
Where might students experience inclusion differently?
How are students prepared to care for patients across identities, perspectives, and experiences?

“At a time when policymakers, educators, and healthcare leaders are working to strengthen workforce pipelines, policies that make it more difficult for qualified students to enter healthcare professions move us in the wrong direction,” PAEA CEO Sara Fletcher, PhD, told reporters this week.

Groups representing physician assistants and education programs are suing the Education Department for its rule implementing caps on advanced degree programs imposed by the GOP’s 2025 tax-and-spending legislation.

Inspired by the energy and momentum of in New Orleans, where nearly 7,000 PAs gathered to connect, learn, and advance the profession.

PAEA leadership represented the perspectives of PA educators, programs, faculty, and students during the AAPA House of Delegates, contributing to important conversations about clinical training capacity, educational access, and the future of the PA workforce.

It was especially valuable to connect with leaders from across the PA community, including American Academy of Physician Associates, National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and ARC-PA, and to continue discussions on issues affecting PA education and healthcare.

PAEA and American Academy of Physician Associates have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Education. At issue is the Reimagining and Improving Student Education (RISE) rule, which excludes PA students from higher federal loan limits for professional students.

This case is about fairness and the future of patient care. PA students are preparing to serve patients in every community across this country. Together, we are standing up for educational opportunity, for the integrity of the law, and for the future healthcare workforce that millions of patients will rely upon in the years ahead.
