🚨 Your blood sugar might look normal… but what about your insulin resistance?
One simple calculation using your blood work can give you a clue. 👀
It’s called your Triglycerides-to-HDL Ratio.
🩸 Here’s how to calculate it:
1️⃣ Find your Triglycerides on your blood test.
2️⃣ Find your HDL (good cholesterol).
3️⃣ Divide your triglycerides by your HDL.
📊 Example:
Triglycerides: 150
HDL: 50
150 ÷ 50 = 3.0
⚠️ A higher ratio can be associated with insulin resistance and metabolic health concerns.
But remember, this is a clue, not a diagnosis. The interpretation also depends on the units used in your lab report.
💡 The good news? Insulin resistance can often improve with the right lifestyle changes.
I know because I’ve worked on improving my own metabolic health.
