This Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and the sacrifice behind every folded flag. 🇺🇸

At HeartLight Funeral Services, we are honored to help properly retire worn and faded American flags with dignity and respect through a ceremonial cremation process.

If you have a retired American flag, you may bring it to our Washington/St. George or Cedar City locations.

Because some symbols represent far more than fabric.
They represent freedom, sacrifice, and lives that should never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

The Cotton Days Parade in Washington this past weekend had an amazing turn out. Thanks to generous donations from TJ's Rentals & Sales, Patches Flowers & Gifts, and Star Sign, we were able to make a float that we envisioned. The rifle, boots, military helmet, and dog tags make up The Battlefield Cross, a solemn monument and reminder of service members who gave the greatest sacrifice in battle.

We invite everyone to join us this Saturday May 2nd for this year's Cotton Days Parade in Washington City. The parade starts at 9 am, so come early to set up along the parade route on Telegraph near Veterans Park. There will be treats, surprises, and candies for everyone.

Our float trailer is provided to us by TJ's Rentals & Sales. They also donated the use of a trailer for our float for the Washington County Fair Parade, where we won People's Choice Award.

We appreciate TJ's Rentals & Sales support of our veterans. We have used them before and highly recommend them for anyone in the community that needs to rent a trailer or any of their other equipment.

HeartLight Funeral Services was honored to participate in the 2026 Washington County Fair Parade with this year’s theme, “America: Past, Present, and Future.”

Our float was simple by design, a flag draped casket resting on a green lawn, accompanied by a rifle and a military hat. No extra noise, no distraction, just a quiet reminder of the cost of freedom.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we remember that our past was built by sacrifice, our present is protected by service, and our future depends on how we honor both. Every folded flag tells a story. Every name represents a life given in service to something greater. We believe those stories deserve to be remembered, not just in moments like this, but always.

We are deeply grateful to have received the People’s Choice Award. Thank you to our community for seeing the heart behind such a simple tribute.

In this video, Abby shares why so many people call her a "Sweet Funeral Director." Serving the community means so much to her. She spends time visiting senior living communities, baking sweet treats, doing activities, decorating cookies, and simply sitting and visiting. She also loves visiting and giving thanks to our local hospice teams, nurses, and caregivers — the quiet heroes who give so much of themselves every day. She has such a gentle, loving spirit.

We are feeling incredibly grateful today.

HeartLight Funeral Services was awarded Platinum in CommunityVotes St. George 2025. It truly means so much to us because it reflects the trust of the families and community we serve.

We are also deeply touched that Annie’s Stone, our small charity project created to support families who have lost a child, was nominated for Best Non-Profit and received Platinum as well.

❤️ Turn On Your HeartLight Life Run 2025 — Almost Complete! ❤️

As we near the conclusion of our Turn on Your HeartLight Life Run for 2025, our hearts are truly full. This year, people joined us both in person and virtually, each one bringing their own light, strength, and purpose to this journey.

One of the most inspiring parts of this year has been the incredible group of senior citizens who accepted the challenge to walk a 5K. Week after week, Abby—our sweet and dedicated funeral director—visited them, encouraged them, and walked beside them as they trained. Her kindness, and their determination, reminded us why this event matters so deeply: because every person deserves the chance to feel supported, healthy, and strong.

This year also carried a special moment of reflection as we paused by Annie’s stone—a quiet reminder of why we continue this mission. Her memory inspires us to keep moving forward with compassion, connection, and purpose. She remains a guiding light in our hearts.

The love and support we received this year are truly beyond words.
To everyone who participated, cheered, donated, or showed up in any way—thank you. You’ve helped make this more than a run; you’ve made it a community of heart, hope, and healing.
