We are excited about the future of Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center and Campground Pediatrics + Wellness Center families! In September, we are embarking on a new journey and moving to join Zarminali Pediatrics.

The teams at Birmingham and Campground have delivered quality, personalized care to families, always keeping our patient's best interest at heart. Zarminali (pronounced "zar-mee-naah-lee") was founded on that same premise. With a name rooted in the meaning, “something that is more precious to you than gold,” Zarminali believes children are our most valuable gift in life and is devoted to partnering with parents and guardians through every stage of their child’s healthcare journey to create a better pediatric experience.

While we are moving and our name is changing, the expert, compassionate care you know and expect is here to stay. We'll share more details in the coming weeks, however, today

💚 How you contact the office or make an appointment remains the same.

💚 Our clinic locations, teams, and phone numbers have not changed.

💚 This change does not impact the insurance plans we accept.

Thank you for choosing us for the care of your most important gift—your children!

🌬️ AIR QUALITY & YOUR CHILD'S HEALTH

👧🧒 Why Kids Are More Vulnerable
Children breathe faster and take in more air relative to their body size than adults. Because their lungs are still developing, they are more sensitive to air pollution—especially children with asthma or other respiratory conditions.

🌤️ Check the Air Quality Before Heading Outside
Visit https://www.airnow.gov the EPA's official website, for real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) updates before planning outdoor activities.

📞 When to Call Our Office
Call our office if your child's cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, or other respiratory symptoms are getting worse or are not improving.

🏃‍♀️🌳 Keep Kids Moving—Safely
On days with moderate air quality:
• 🌅 Plan outdoor play for the morning when air quality may be better.
• 🚶 Choose lighter or less strenuous activities if needed.
• 💧 Stay hydrated and take breaks as needed.

Regular physical activity is still an important part of your child's overall health and well-being. 🌟

🚨 Summer Safety Reminder

A recent news report shared that a child was burned after a squishy "dumpling"-style toy was left in a hot car and burst, releasing hot gel. While these toys are fun, extreme heat can cause some gel-filled or squishy toys to become hazardous.

As temperatures rise, remember:
☀️ Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
🧸 Bring toys, electronics, and other heat-sensitive items inside.
🚗 Always check the back seat before locking your car.

A few extra seconds can help prevent a serious injury. Stay safe this summer! ❤️
