Congratulations to our 2026 Q1 Pillar Award recipient, Jessica Madley, CNA on Acute Rehab! 🎉

Jessica was nominated after making a patient’s Thanksgiving holiday extra special. The nomination shared:
“My mother was still on the floor on Thanksgiving day. Jessica made sure my mom was ready for my sons and I to visit and share a special holiday lunch with her. Mom mentioned numerous times while we ate that Jessica went above and beyond getting everything ready for our visit. I can tell she connected with my mother and made her stay much more comforting.”

Jessica truly exemplifies the DCH Pillars of Quality, People, Finance, Service, Growth, and Community through her compassion and dedication to our patients and families.

Thank you, Jessica, for the difference you make every day!

Thank you to the DCH Foundation's gift to the hospital in support of upgrading the cardiac rehab equipment. This equipment and software play a critical role in helping our patients recover, regain strength, and reduce the risk of future cardiac events. Many cardiac rehab patients return to DCH following surgery to get the vital rehabilitation they need to reach their optimal level of function.

Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) is proud to announce Hunter Gaines, ASN, RN, as the recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for the first quarter of 2026.

Gaines, who serves as the RN House Supervisor at DCH, was nominated by a patient who shared a powerful story of compassion that extended far beyond the walls of the hospital. During the patient’s stay, it was discovered that no one was available to care for their dogs at home. Without hesitation, Gaines volunteered to travel more than 20 miles on his own time to feed them, using his own resources to ensure the pets were cared for.

Thank you, Hunter!!
