Washingtonville Pediatrics is a healthcare facility that provides quality pediatric healthcare and also promotes a welcoming, relaxed environment where children and their parents are encouraged to learn and actively participate in preventative healthcare and treatment. Our state-of-the-art facility has video screens in every room showing educational videos on many child-health and development topi

cs. The waiting room has a 125-gallon fish tank to soothe and entertain nervous and not-so-nervous children and parents alike. Our entire interior is designed to put children and their parents at ease. Beautiful architecture, lots of light, a wonderful display of colorful murals, and fanciful hallways and sitting spaces all help to relax patients and parents and to create a healthy, positive pediatric experience. We are all board certified pediatricians with membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics. We are on the attending staff at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY. Our practice is an affiliate of Children's and Women's Physicians of Westchester. We have recently opened a new Health and Wellness Counseling Center, and added a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Registered Dietitian to our practice! TUESDAY TIP: Kids aren’t the only ones who come out to play during the summertime- bees do, too.
Here’s the “buzz” about treating a bee sting at home.

🐝 Remove the stinger using a scraping motion
🐝 Wash the stung area with soap and water
🐝 Apply an ice pack wrapped in cloth
🐝 Give ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.

If your child begins to have difficulty breathing, they should seek medical attention right away and call 911. Keep an Epi-pen with your child if they have a history of severe allergy to a bee sting, and give us a call if you have any questions about your child’s bee sting allergy.

TUESDAY TIP: Keep your child healthy and safe outdoors when playing in grassy or wooded area. For children over the age of 2 months, use bug repellent containing either DEET (no more than 30%) or lemon eucalyptus oil. Spray repellent on clothes as much as possible rather than the skin, and steer clear of spraying on the hands and face.
