Little Loon Therapy in Wasilla is looking for a part-time supervising Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team.

This role would include clinical supervision, documentation review, evaluations, treatment planning, and support for our therapy team. The schedule is flexible, and compensation would include competitive pay plus a supervision stipend.

This would be a great fit for an SLP who already works part time, works in a school setting, provides teletherapy, or wants a flexible side position.

Requirements: Alaska SLP license and active Alaska Medicaid enrollment

Little Loon's new owners are here, and we're stopping by to say hey!

First, we want to say how grateful we are for Kayla and everything she put into building Little Loon. This clinic started from such a personal place, and the care she has given families in this community is something we truly respect.

As the new ownership team, our goal is to keep Little Loon moving forward with the same heart, while also growing the clinic in ways that help more people in the Mat-Su Valley. Little Loon Therapy now serves both children and adults, and we are excited to continue offering therapy that feels personal, supportive, and connected to real life.

For current clients and families, we know changes like this sometimes bring questions. Please know that we are working hard to make this transition feel smooth, steady, and positive. The goal is not to change what made Little Loon special, the goal is to build on it.

✨ BIG Announcement Time! ✨

It is with mixed emotions that I *finally* write this post to share some important updates about Little Loon.

Earlier this year, my (Kayla's) family made the bittersweet decision to move out of state. As my own children have grown, the pull to be near our family has grown, too. After a decade of calling Alaska home, we have chosen to relocate back to southwest Washington to spend more time with our loved ones.

While the future of Little Loon was uncertain for a period of time, I am thrilled to announce that new ownership will be taking over! Double Talk Therapy PLLC will not only continue providing vital pediatric therapy in the valley, but also expand services to include much-needed adult care! There are additional plans to add occupational therapy as they settle in and continue to grow. 🥳

With the clinic’s ownership transition underway, this week marks the final week of working with clients for both Kayla and Kristin. Our Palmer office will be closing as Kristin begins an exciting new chapter in ownership of her own private practice, where she will continue providing excellent care for pediatric clients. Meanwhile, Double Talk’s staff is working diligently to connect with Little Loon families and prepare for a smooth transition, with plans to keep services rolling in early June.

Working with all of your children and families has meant so much to me over the years. I am deeply grateful for my time spent here in Alaska and especially for all the relationships established along the way. It has been a privilege to build this practice and serve this community of amazing people. 🥹

I’m thrilled for what’s ahead and excited to see the practice continue to grow and thrive under the ownership of Double Talk Therapy PLLC. Thank you for all of your support, encouragement, and trust throughout this journey — it has truly meant more than words can say.

It's great to see that we may finally be seeing movement toward consideration of things like motor and structural issues becoming standard. We always evaluate these factors at Little Loon and strive to address kids as a whole rather than just the sounds they produce!
