With 17 years in the funeral industry, I have dedicated my life to serving families during some of their most difficult moments. I understand that saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy, and it is an honor to help families navigate those moments with dignity, compassion, and respect.

This is more than a profession to me — it’s a calling, a commitment, and a ministry of service.

Phillip was born on October 5, 1957 in Indianola Mississippi to the late Rosa Lynn Fly and Robert E Fly. Today I stand with a broken heart, yet a grateful heart, for the life I shared with my husband, Phillip. Phillip passed away peacefully on Friday August 7, 2026 at his home.

Thirty-nine years ago, God brought us together. We were young and had very little, but we had each other. That was enough to begin a life built on love and faith.

The first years were not easy. We struggled and we wondered how we would make it. But we stayed together and kept going-hand in hand through every season.

Together, we built our home from the ground up, not just a house, but a life filled with love, family, and memories that carried us through.

We were blessed with our children, Derek and Ashley (David) Rios and later our granddaughter Cameron Grace Fly who brought so much joy into our lives.

We also built our peaceful place at Grenada Lake-our cabin, Haven's Loft—a place of quiet peace and rest, filled with memories of our life together.

Through sickness, Phillip remained strong. He fought with courage. He never complained. He never cried out in fear. He simply took each day as God gave it to him, trusting the Lord through it all.

In the end, he was at home, surrounded by love, passing in the place we built together.

I will carry him with me always—in our home, Haven's Loft, our children Derek and Ashley, and our granddaughter Cameron.

To cherish his memories, he leaves behind his wife, Linda Fly, one daughter, Ashley (Dave) Rios, one son, Derrick Fly and one granddaughter, Cameron Grace Fly, he leaves behind one brother, Calvin Hood, an uncle, Daniel Kerr, and his mother in law, Nancy Lindsey.

This is not goodbye. It is, "Until we meet again."

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert E Fly and Rosa Lynn Fly, his grandparents, BilBo Fly and Earleen Fly, his grandfather Rosa Lee Kerr, his brother, Robert Deion Fly and his father in law Billy Lindsey.
