Southmayd Home is a nonprofit residential care community for women age 60 and older, nestled in the historic Overlook neighborhood of Waterbury, Connecticut.

We offer warm, personalized care in a family-like setting at an affordable price — and we have been doing it since 1898. Private rooms, homemade meals, daily activities, a beautiful backyard Garden Park, and a team that genuinely cares.

We currently have beds available.

We are opening our doors.

On June 11, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Southmayd Home will host a Professional Open House and we would love for you to be there.

Meet our recreation coordinator, Stephanie.

Stephanie has been on the Southmayd team since 2016. She has almost 2 decades of experience planning activities for groups of all ages. Stephanie plans and implements an on-going program of activities designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to talk about something that does not get enough attention.
