🎶🦪 Woodtick Memorial is proud to support the 25th Annual Clam Jam! 🦪🎶

Community involvement has always been an important part of who we are at Woodtick Memorial, and this event is especially meaningful to our team. Manager Marc Frigon, former owner and manager Sharon Frigon, and current staff members Gary Wachtelhausen, Patrick Draper, and Jay McNeil are all proud members of the Exchange Club of Wolcott.

Friends, neighbors, and families throughout the Wolcott community are invited to come out and support the 25th Annual Clam Jam on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Wolcott Recreation Pavilion!

Festivities begin at 10:00 AM with a full day of great food, music, entertainment, games, prizes, karaoke, the annual cash raffle, and, of course, the all-you-can-eat clam bake while supplies last.

Proceeds from the event benefit child abuse prevention, youth scholarships, and other charitable efforts right here in our local community.

Our Woodtick Memorial family looks forward to seeing familiar faces, making new friends, and celebrating 25 years of this wonderful Wolcott tradition.

Muriel Russak

Muriel Russak at age 95 passed away peacefully Saturday August 15th to join her husband Joseph Russak, parents Raymond and Aurilla Percy, sisters Elizabeth Boyington and Alberta Lacafta, brother-in-law Richard Lacafta, nephew Danny Lacafta, and niece Dawn (Helfont) Christopher.

Those she leaves behind will remember her fondly as a kind and caring person without a harsh word for anyone as she raised her family, cared for grandchildren, welcomed friends of her children as part of the family, and grew her flowers and garden for as long as age permitted (a thank you to nephew Ray Boyington for help with the garden and so much more). She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She enjoyed reading a good book out on the front porch on a nice day, greeting neighbors as they walked their dogs. But mostly she enjoyed life with family and her live-in companion and best friend Jean Busha. Muriel would be the first to recognize and thank Jean for all she has done.

Thank you also to family friend Mary Morelli for being there when needed. Muriel often spoke of being so lucky as to have wonderful neighbors: Brian and Paula Evelich, Richard and Leslie Tiso. Her family heartily agrees. A special thank you to Dr. St. Pierre for years of care -- both medically and from the heart -- and to the incredible team of the ICU of the Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Muriel will be missed by those she loved and leaves behind, including: her sister Marlene Helfont (husband Jerry); children Greg Russak, Eric Russak (wife Lori), Anna Russak; grand-daughters Raven Russak, Danielle Fernald (husband Chris, son Ben), and Tanya Grant (husband Brian, children Mason and Sadie); Jean Busha and Mary Morelli; her nieces and nephews; and friends of the family.

John Thomas DiDomizio

With our hearts broken, we announce the sudden passing of John Thomas DiDomizio, who left us on Sunday August 9th at his home in Wolcott at the age of 58.

John was born in Waterbury on June 16, 1968, son of the late Richard and Dora (Stepputtis) DiDomizio. He graduated from Kaynor Tech High School in Waterbury. He was proud to work as a welder for Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford. John was a devoted son and brother. His smile lit up the room anywhere he went. He enjoyed heavy metal rock bands from the 80s, going to the beach, woodworking and Native American culture.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister Doreen and her husband Chad Smith, his brother Dan DiDomizio, his nephew Dan Jr., Niece Breanna, two great nephews, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also had many great friends and coworkers that will truly miss him

John’s life will be celebrated beginning with calling hours on Monday August 17th from 4 to 7 PM at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday beginning at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Rolande Lannon

Rolande (Chasse) (Laferriere) Lannon, 103, of Wolcott, passed away on Monday August 10th surrounded by her loving family at Complete Care at Glendale in Naugatuck. She was the wife of the late William Lannon.

Rolande was born April 5, 1923 in St. Agatha, Maine, but spent most of her life in Wolcott where she was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church. She was a devout Catholic and member of the St. Pius Rosary Society. She was retired from St. Mary’s Hospital. She loved watching the Yankees and UConn men’s basketball.

Rolande is survived by her daughter Doris Begley and her daughter-in-law Norma Laferriere, thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Rolande was pre-deceased by her three sons Nelson, James and Glen Laferriere, her son-in-law John ”Jack” Begley, her two granddaughters, Michele Laferriere and Camri Ulevicas and she outlived all nine of her siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday August 14th at St. Basil the Great Parish/ St. Pius X Church in Wolcott with burial to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Friends and family may call at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Susan Baltera

We sadly announce the sudden passing of Susan (Brangel) Baltera who left us on Sunday August 2nd at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport at the age of 71. For the last 50 years, Susan was the devoted wife of Mark Baltera.

Susan was born in Waterbury on January 28, 1955, daughter of the late James and Lillian (Broniewski) Brangel. She graduated from Wilby High School and was a former Stop & Shop employee where she built life long lasting friendships.

Susan had a fun loving personality and was also a deeply caring person. She loved animals, especially her cats, and volunteered at numerous events supporting local animal rescue organizations. Her caring personality was also demonstrated in the special way that she loved her husband, family, and friends.

She is survived by her husband Mark, her loving children Sharon Lescadre and her fiancée Kent Burgwardt, Jaime Stewart and her husband Kyle Stewart, her cherished grandchildren Gabrielle Lescadre, Brooklyn and Jameson Chance, her two sisters Judy Genovese and Laurel Seebach, and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Christine Kelly

Mrs. Christine E. (Wester) Kelly, 69, devoted wife of John “Jack” Kelly passed peacefully at her home in Wolcott on Monday August 3rd.

Born in Waterbury on October 20, 1956, Chris was the daughter of the late James and Eleanor (Kramer) Wester. She graduated from Wolcott High School and raised her daughters in Wolcott. Her career was in real estate and for many years she owned the Kelly and Associates Agency in Oxford. She enjoyed gardening, golfing and her hobby of making jigsaw puzzles that Jack would frame and display in their home.

Chris and Jack were married for over 52 years. Sadly, they outlived their daughters Lisa Kelly and Julie (Kelly) Marfia. Left to cherish her memory are her two grandsons Jonathon and Christian Marfia, her three sisters, Diane and her husband Emile Gaugler, Barbara and her husband Mark Berglund, Linda and her husband John Cullen, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by Jack’s family, his mother Linda and her husband James Rice, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Friends and Family are welcome to celebrate Christine’s life on Saturday August 8th at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott. Calling hours will begin at 10 AM followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Rosemary R. DiBiase

With our hearts broken we announce that the matriarch of our family Rosemary R. (Milton) DiBiase, 90, passed peacefully on Saturday July 25th at The Pines at Bristol. She is now reunited in Heaven with her husband, the late Joseph DiBiase.Born in New Brunswick, Canada on December 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Mary (Killam) Milton. She lived and raised her family in Bristol for many years before moving to Wolcott in 2001. She retired from OZ Gedney in Terryville where she worked for over 31 years.Rosemary loved shopping, exercising, dancing and singing. She also enjoyed her annual trips to visit her siblings in Canada. She was a very faithful person and an active member of Wolcott Christian Life Center.Left to carry on her fun-loving legacy are her three daughters Maria and her husband James Poudrier, Barbara and her husband Frank Cahill, Wanda and her husband Norman Stevens, her brother Killiam and sisters Kilmeny, Charlotte and Inez, her 10 grandchildren, Chery, Jenny, Janette, Miranda,Mike, Christina, Jeremy, Tanya, Sharlene,and Tammerah, her 19 great grandchildren, Kayla, Gloriah, Joe, Aliyah, Joshua, Ethan, Noah, Lily, McEnzie, Matthew, Jameson, Caleb, Rose, Blake, Caden, Juniper, Parker, also Lucian and Alexander, and one great great grandson Maverick, plus several generations of nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Rosemary was predeceased by her daughter Tammy DuBois, her son Daniel DiBiase, two of her grandchildren, Ryan and Alisha, and by 13 brothers and sisters.In accordance with her wishes, graveside services will be on Wednesday July 29 at 1 PM in St. Joseph Cemetery 522 Terryville Ave in Bristol. Alice Lawlor

Mrs. Alice M. (Cavalari) Lawlor, beloved wife of John F. Lawlor, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at Complete Care at Glendale at the age of 82.

Born in Avoca, Pennsylvania, on November 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Powell) Cavalari. She moved to Connecticut as a child, graduated from Wilby High School in Waterbury, and had been a resident of Wolcott since 1973. Alice was a retired employee of Uniroyal in Naugatuck.

Alice cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the New York Giants and the New York Mets.

In addition to her beloved husband of 53 years, she leaves to carry on her loving legacy her son, Chief Master Sergeant Edward Lawlor, U.S. Air Force; her three grandchildren, Shawn, Taylor, and Ryan Lawlor; her sisters, Donna Wontrosk, Janet Healy and her husband, Kevin. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Allan Cavalari.

Rita Gagnier

Mrs. Rita (Gilbert) Gagnier, wife of the late Elmer Gagnier, passed peacefully at her home in Middlebury on July 18, 2026, at the age of 102 and marks the passing of her generation of the Gilbert family.

Born on December 12, 1923, in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, P.Q., Canada, Rita was the daughter of the late Valare and Augustine (Gilbert) Gilbert. Rita lived in Middlebury, CT for over 70 years, where she enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her pets. She had a wonderful, friendly personality and was quite witty.

Left to carry on her legacy are her daughter Sandra Thompson, her son Craig and his wife Lisa Gagnier, her grandsons Sean and Christopher Thompson, her great grandchildren Taylor Matousek, Alex Thompson, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Elmer, Rita was predeceased by her brother Donald Gilbert, her sisters Martha Langton, Moniques Desrochers and Lorraine Pelletier.

At her request, Rita will be privately laid to rest in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum next to her husband Elmer in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Maryann Daddona

MaryAnn (Beaudoin) Daddona, 78, beloved wife of Louis Daddona, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Westerly Hospital in RI.

Born in Waterbury on March 5, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marion (Murray) Beaudoin. She was formerly employed at The Somma Tool Company in Waterbury and Airpax in Cheshire. For over 30 years, MaryAnn lived in Wolcott and was a communicant of St. Pius X Church. She and Louis have been residing in Norwich for the last four years. They enjoyed music, concerts, traveling and craft shows.

In addition to her husband Louis of 24 years, MaryAnn is survived by her sons Robert, Joseph and John Leonard, her sisters Terri (David) Brouillard and Carol (Frank) Korowlonty, her brother Thomas (Leigh) Beaudoin, her six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son William Leonard, her sister Pauline Pelton and her brother Fred Beaudoin.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate MaryAnn’s life on Friday July 24th at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott. Calling hours will begin at 9:00 AM with a funeral procession to St. Pius Church/St. Basil Parish for Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery.
