In 1948, at the request of Archbishop Edward Mooney, the Dominican Sisters of Oxford began caring for the elderly in their previous motherhouse nestled along the shores of Scott Lake – a stunning location reflecting the beauty of God’s creation. Today, more than 60 years later, Lourdes Senior Community, a non-profit, continuing care retirement community, has grown into a neighborhood of 250 senior

s living in four distinct residences. Fox Manor offers independent living, Mendelson Home provides assisted living, Clausen Manor cares for those living with dementia and Lourdes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center offers long-term care and a rehabilitation center. Lourdes Senior Community has a long history of quality healthcare services and programs. In 2013, the Lourdes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center was named one of the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report magazine, and the overall community was selected Best of the Best for senior living for the sixth year in a row by readers of the Oakland Press, a suburban Detroit daily newspaper. In addition, Clausen Manor and the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center previously received Michigan Governor Care Awards, and each year our facilities pass state surveys with exemplary records.

There is always something new to discover, appreciate, or enjoy, no matter our age.

Sometimes it's trying something new. Sometimes it's noticing something beautiful we've passed a hundred times before. And sometimes it's simply finding another reason to laugh, learn, or be grateful for the day in front of us.

So stay curious, keep noticing the little things, and never lose your sense of wonder.

A warm smile, a helping hand, a few minutes spent listening, or simply letting someone know you're thinking of them can make an ordinary day a little brighter.

Always look for one small opportunity to share a little kindness.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks at Fox Manor! 💙

Our residents have been out and about enjoying lunch at the Moose Lodge, taking in the sights and sounds of the Woodward Dream Cruise, spending an afternoon playing bingo, visiting with friends at Mendelson Assisted Living, and even doing a little shopping while browsing cosmetics from Mary Kay!

From outings in the community to catching up with friends right here on campus, there’s always something happening at Fox Manor. We love seeing our residents staying active, making memories and, most importantly, enjoying time together.

Celebrating Our Amazing Team! 💙🎉

Yesterday, team members from across Lourdes Senior Community came together for our annual Employee Appreciation Lunch—an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the incredible people who make Lourdes such a special place to live and work!

Staff enjoyed a complimentary lunch from Shedderz Food Truck, ice cream for dessert, music from our DJ, raffles and prizes, and plenty of fun with some very fashionable party glasses! 😎 Employees also had the opportunity to visit the Scrub Truck and shop for some new workwear.

Most importantly, it was a chance to step away from the busy day, spend time together and celebrate the people who bring our Mission to life each and every day.

Thank you to all of our Lourdes employees for the compassion, dedication and heart you bring to our community. We appreciate everything you do! 💙

Today, Mendelson Assisted Living hosted a special lunch for a very special group of residents. Our centenarians! 🎉

This annual gathering gives our centenarians an opportunity to come together, share a meal, reminisce about days gone by, swap stories and simply enjoy one another’s company.

With more than 500 years of life experience gathered around one table, there are certainly plenty of stories to tell! ❤️

We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate these remarkable members of our Lourdes family and the many years, memories and wisdom they share with us.
