Direct care wages need to increase to reflect the important life changing and essential services they provide every day to people with disabilities. Please make your voices heard. Being a caregiver is an honorable and incredibly important career that needs to be acknowleged and paid fairly. Lets move forward not backward!

AMORC, a grassroots advocacy organization, is hosting an upcoming Town Hall Meeting focusing on what we can do collectively to protect the Direct Support Professional wages and OCHN’s diminishing revenue that supports our community.

The Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 10 from 6-8 PM at the Troy Community Center.

The Arc of Oakland County will be at the Town Hall Meeting, and we are encouraging all of our members and friends to attend as well. We have invited state representatives and community leaders so your voices will be heard!

Please consider attending to tell your story— whether it’s difficulty finding caregivers, frustration with the waiting lists for housing and vocational opportunities, or other issues — sharing your personal experiences is essential!

Assist individuals with their daily living, provide safety and comfort. Aid people with basic tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and accessing the community. Help with home management tasks, meals, grocery shopping and housekeeping. All homes provided with PPE.
