CAPE VINCENT- Donald (Bubby) G. Boon, 75, of S. Esselstyne St. passed away on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., Cape Vincent, NY.
Bubby was born in Olean, NY, on June 13th, 1950, to Donald R. and Dolores (Schunk) Boon.
Bubby was raised in Rochester, NY, where he graduated from Madison High School. After High School, Bubby became a heavy truck mechanic, working for various shops, including DeCarolis Trucking, Okar Equipment, and Leaseway. His other jobs included working at several car dealerships.
In the 80’s he moved to Cape Vincent, NY where he owned and operated Don’s Mobile for a few years before he went to work for the NYS DOT. Bubby retired from the DOT after 22 years of service.
Bubby loved his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He enjoyed country music, country western books and movies, and car shows. He collected Zippo lighters, hats, and pocket knives.
Bubby is survived by his four children, Christina Truax, Holley, Darren (Alyssa Stahlman) Boon, Salamanca, Rebecca Boon, Hilton, and Stephanie (Connor) Hajdasz, Black River; Grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan) Cobb, Isaac Boon, William Boon (Molly Cooper), Jacob Truax, Aliah John, Astell Boon, and Aries Boon, Great-grandchildren, Avery Boon, Owen Cobb, and his siblings, Cherie (Ronald) Scofero, Daniel (Phyllis) Boon, Jacklyn Boon, and Donna Lee McAuley.
Bubby is predeceased by his parents, his older sister and brother-in-law, Mary Louise and Bob Roberts, and his granddaughter, Alexandria Kindt.
A calling hour will be held from 2-3 pm, with a memorial service at 3 pm on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., 188 W. Broadway St., Cape Vincent, NY 13618. A burial will take place in the spring, along with a celebration of life.

Steven Neil Gippe, 71, of Cape Vincent passed away on November 21 st , 2025 under the care of
Samaritan Medical Center.
Steven was born to William and Helen (Gray) Gippe on August 22 nd, 1954, in Rochester, NY.
Steven attended Monroe High School, Rochester, NY and worked in construction most of his life
until retirement. His immediate family was scattered across the country and Steven often served
as the Gippe Family representative at New York events from celebrations to memorials. Steve
was loved and respected by many of those with whom he worked and/or socialized.
CAPE VINCENT- Steven was a member of the Sons of the American Legion #832, Cape Vincent and the Laborers'
International Union of North America, Local #435, Rochester. He had also been a member VFW
SONS Post 2844, Rochester and AL Riders #832. He was a Huge (no exaggeration) NASCAR Fan!
Steve loved animals and enjoyed Baking and Cooking. His Brownies were a bit of a legend (maybe a
little exaggeration) in ‘The Cape’.
Steven is survived by a son, Eric (Jennifer) Farrell, grandchildren Jonnah & EJ and siblings
Diane (Robert) Doud, William (LeAnne) Gippe, Cape Vincent, NY; Valerie Gippe, Amado, AZ;
Susan Stevens, San Gabriel, CA and Johann (aka Jay) Gippe, Mesa, AZ and many nieces and
nephews.
Steven is predeceased by both parents; a sister, Deborah and a brother-in-law. Edward (Steve)
Stevens.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown. Per Steven’s wishes
there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Contributions in his name may be made to the

WATERTOWN, NY – Dale W. O’Hara, 67, of Leray St. passed away surrounded by family on November 23rd, 2025. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home.
Dale was born on September 23rd, 1958, to the late John and Betty (Lomas) O’Hara in Watertown, NY.
Dale worked as a truck driver during his life, which was one of his favorite things to do. In addition to that, Dale was known to have enjoyed spending his time joking around with friends and family, tinkering and fixing various things while listening to music, especially Pink Floyd, and loved drinking coffee and coke. Most importantly, Dale loved to help people. Although he was a man of few words, he will be remembered for his laughter.
Dale is survived by a daughter, Jocelyn Mono, his ex-spouse Laurie Mono, a brother John “Jack” (Katherina) O’Hara Jr. of Ashville, NC, sisters Trudy Thompson of Phoenix, AZ, Tammy (Leslie) Wager, of Dexter, NY, and Tina (Craig) Monaco of Adams, NY. He is also survived by grandchildren, Malichi Boss and Helena Bellabre, along with several nieces and nephews.
Dale is predeceased by both parents, John and Betty, along with a brother James Francis who passed away at birth.Hara
