4 exercises I did today in pelvic health PT that weren’t Kegels 👀

Pelvic health rehab can include:
✨ strength training
✨ breathing coordination
✨ mobility work
✨ balance & stability
✨ return to running/sport drills

Because your pelvic floor doesn’t work alone — it’s part of an entire system.

Not every session includes internal work, and treatment is always individualized

PCOS is now PMOS.

This week, international experts announced a new name for PCOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). The goal is to better reflect the condition’s complex hormonal and metabolic impacts — not just ovarian findings.

At pelvic floor PT, we often see overlapping symptoms involving pain, bowel/bladder dysfunction, pressure management, nervous system dysregulation, and return to exercise.

Your pelvic floor doesn’t exist separately from the rest of your body — and this name change highlights that bigger picture.

Pelvic floor symptoms during pregnancy are common — but they shouldn’t be ignored. Your pelvic floor is adapting to increased load, hormonal changes, and shifts in how your core system works. With the right guidance, you can improve coordination, reduce symptoms, and prepare your body for birth and recovery.

If you’re pregnant and want proactive support, schedule a one-on-one pelvic floor evaluation through the link in our bio.

Most people think pelvic health PT = kegels or internal work.

But your pelvic floor doesn’t function alone. It responds to:
- Your breathing
- Your stress levels
- Your hip mobility
- Your strength
- Your movement habits

We treat the whole system—not just one muscle.

Returning to running after baby isn’t about a timeline — it’s about readiness.

Your pelvic floor must coordinate with breath, core, and lower body to manage load and impact safely.

We guide postpartum runners step by step to return confidently, symptom-free, and strong.

First big nor’easter = snow shoveling season ❄️
If shoveling makes you leak or feel pelvic pressure, it’s not “just winter.”
Keep your back neutral, bend your knees, and exhale before you lift and through the lift.
That breath can make the difference between support and strain.
