Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

At Family First Funeral Homes, we are reminded every day of the importance of honoring lives and preserving legacies. This Memorial Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to the fallen heroes and to the families who continue to carry their memories forward.

May we all take a moment today to reflect, remember, and appreciate the freedoms made possible through their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

It was a profound honor for Knowlton & Hewins & Roberts Funeral Home to assist in bringing U.S. Army Corporal Delmont Johnston home this past Wednesday.
After decades of uncertainty, Corporal Johnston has finally returned to Maine, where he will be laid to rest with the dignity, respect, and recognition he so rightfully deserves. His service and sacrifice as a prisoner of war during World War II will never be forgotten, and it is a privilege to be part of ensuring his story is remembered and honored.
Family, community members, and all who wish to pay their respects are invited to attend his committal service on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Avenue, Augusta, Maine.
We extend our deepest gratitude to those who have worked tirelessly to account for our fallen heroes and bring them home. Today, we remember Corporal Johnston not only for his service, but for the legacy he leaves behind—a reminder of courage, sacrifice, and enduring honor.
Welcome home, Corporal Johnston.

Often working behind the scenes, your impact is felt in every service, every conversation, and every moment of comfort we provide. We truly couldn’t do this without you.
