One of the most common questions we get asked is: “Does insurance cover hearing aids?”

The answer is… sometimes. While Medicare does not currently cover hearing aids, some private insurance plans may offer coverage or benefits.

At Athens Oconee Audiology, we believe hearing care should feel personalized, not one-size-fits-all. That’s why we offer products from all major manufacturers and create customized treatment plans based on your hearing needs, lifestyle, and budget.

Not sure what your insurance covers? Give our office a call. We’re happy to look into your benefits for you at no cost.

Tinnitus affects millions of Americans, and for many people, it can begin without any major event or clear explanation.

Tinnitus is actually a symptom, not a condition itself. It can be connected to changes in the inner ear, years of noise exposure, certain medications, or hearing loss. But interestingly, some patients with bothersome tinnitus still have completely normal hearing.

The good news? There are management options available.

At Athens Oconee Audiology, we offer tinnitus evaluations and treatment options designed to help improve quality of life. Whether you’re experiencing ringing, buzzing, hissing, or roaring sounds, you don’t have to simply “live with it.”

If tinnitus is affecting your sleep, focus, or daily life, our team is here to help you understand what’s happening and explore options for relief.

Hearing loss doesn’t just affect what you hear… it affects how you live.
You start asking people to repeat themselves.

You miss parts of conversations.

You feel a step behind in moments that matter most.

Over time, it can impact your confidence, your relationships, even your willingness to show up.

The good news? It’s something you can do something about.

Sometimes the best part of what we do has nothing to do with hearing aids themselves. It’s what those hearing aids make possible.

One of our patients was most excited about one thing after her fitting: calling her children and hearing them clearly again. Watching her step outside to make that first phone call and seeing the emotion on her face is a moment we’ll never forget.

Better hearing is about more than sound. It’s about connection, confidence, and getting pieces of life back that hearing loss may have slowly taken away. 🤍

We’re grateful today and always for their sacrifice and for the moments we’re able to fully experience because of it.
