We have struck gold with our latest activity: Gem Mining! ⛏💎

We recently introduced this hands-on experience, and it has been an absolute treasure for our residents! Each resident received a bucket of sand packed with hidden riches, poured it into a sifter, and washed it through the water to reveal their loot!

Using an identification card, everyone got to identify their discoveries ranging from pyrite and rose quartz to jasper, fossils, and more! The best part? They were able to keep their favorites!

We loved having our friends from Heritage Woods stop by for a fantastic morning of Bingo and a delicious lunch cookout! 🌭

We fired up the grill for hot dogs with all the fixings, shared plenty of laughs, and had the best time catching up and visiting. Thank you to everyone who made the day so special! 😊

We enjoyed tasty snacks, refreshing dirty sodas, and amazing live music from the Baier family! They played the perfect cowboy tunes, and our residents absolutely loved it.

Let’s give a huge shoutout to Laila, who is celebrating 10 years of incredible service at IMH!🎉

Laila has been a certified CNA since 2009. She brings immense heart to her roles as both a CNA and a Restorative Aide. When asked what her favorite part of working at Iroquois Memorial Resident Home was she said "I love my residents..." and Laila, that love shines through every single day in the beautiful care you provide at the Iroquois Resident Home! ❤️

When she isn't filling our halls with kindness, Laila is living life to the fullest.
Here are a few fun facts about her:
🌱 She is a proud vegetarian (and makes a mean veggie chili!).
🐕 She has a bull mastiff/German Shepherd mix named Charlie.
✈️ She loves to cook and travel.
🌲 You can often find her camping, hiking, gardening, or reading.
