This morning the residents attended a lecture hosted by our in house therapy department heritage health pro’s own Connie Banks PTA. Connie spoke about ways to maintain healthy joints, rheumatoid arthritis and the benefits of Omega 3’s. Healthy snacks of Omega 3 trail mix, bananas and juice were enjoyed by all attendees. Everyone is already looking forward to next month’s presentation!

🌟🏡 FRIENDS, FUN & A WHOLE LOT OF BINGO! 🏡🌟

Today was such a FUN day of friendship and fellowship! ❤️😊 Our residents headed over to IMH Resident Home to spend time with their friends for a wonderful day filled with BINGO 🎉🎲, CHURCH ⛪🙏, and a delicious COOKOUT! 🌭🍔

And of course… you can’t have a cookout without LOTS of yummy sides and dips! 🥗🥣 We finished things off with some sweet treats—juicy watermelon 🍉 and cookies 🍪! 😋

There were plenty of laughs 😂, smiles 😁, good conversations 💬, and great memories made together! ❤️ It’s always so special when our communities can come together, share a meal, enjoy an activity, and simply spend time with good friends. 🥰 We were having so much fun we almost forgot to take a group photo!😂

A HUGE THANK YOU to our friends at IMH Resident Home for being such gracious and welcoming hosts! 🏡❤️ We had an absolute blast and are already looking forward to our next hangout! 🎉🙌

🍉🎉 WHAT A MELON OF A TIME WE HAD TODAY! 🎉🍉

Our ONE IN A MELON WATERMELON CRAWL was an absolute BLAST! 🍉💚💗 We had games, trivia, delicious treats, big laughs, and even bigger smiles! 😄🥳

🎶🍉 The energy was SO much fun as everyone joined in on our Watermelon Crawl games! We had plenty of cheering, friendly competition, laughter, and some serious melon madness! 😂🏆🍉

🧠🍉 Then we put our watermelon knowledge to the test with WATERMELON TRIVIA! And of course, all that hard thinking worked up an appetite! 😋

YUM!!! 😍

But one of the BEST parts of the afternoon was the memories we shared! ❤️

Our residents reminisced about family picnics, summertime gardens, growing their own watermelons, and those good old-fashioned seed-spitting contests! 😂🍉🌱

And then came the stories that REALLY got everyone laughing… 🤭

🍉 Several residents admitted they got into trouble as kids for STEALING watermelons and RUNNING! 🏃‍♂️💨🍉😂

Those stories brought out some BIG laughs and reminded us that sometimes the best memories are the ones that started with a little bit of mischief! 😆❤️

🎟️🍉 Everyone received a raffle ticket when they entered our Watermelon Crawl, and we had 3 lucky raffle ticket winners! 🎉🎟️🏆

And that's not all…

🏆🍉 3 MORE lucky winners took home prizes from our games!

What a fun afternoon filled with friendship, laughter, movement, memories, and a whole lot of watermelon! 🍉❤️

Who says a rainy day has to slow us down?! 🌧️😄 Not us! At Heritage Woods of Watseka, when the rain comes pouring down outside, we bring the ENERGY inside with CARDIO DRUMMING! 🥁💪🎶

There were smiles, laughter, great music, and plenty of BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! 😂🥁💥 Our residents got moving, tapping, reaching, and drumming along to the beat—and having an absolute BLAST while doing it! 💃🕺👏

Garden cucumbers are in abundance so pickle making is a must! 9 batches of brine created 30 jars of refrigerator bread and butter pickles. We laughed and reminisced about canning vegetables, living on the farm, and all the chores that came with farm life. We had so many extra cucumbers we were able to make sure everyone who wanted to enjoy them could have a bag of clean and sliced to enjoy. We have posted the pickle recipe if you want to make your own.

Residents at Heritage Woods of Watseka celebrated national chocolate chip cookie day the old school way with milk and cookies at bingo. Some enjoyed to bite into the soft chewy chippy cookie while others were dunkers. Jo channeled her inner youth by a big slurp or two of a very full glass of chocolate milk. However you enjoy it, cookies and milk are a great snack for all ages!

Fun fact: the chocolate chip cookie was invented in 1938 by American chef Ruth Graves Wakefield at the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts.

🎲🧮➕ Math + Fun = A Winning Day! 🎉

Today we tried out a brand-new game called Cover the Number, and it was a BIG hit! 🎲 Everyone rolled two dice, put their math skills to work by using one number, both numbers, or the sum, then raced to cover their game card. The first person to cover all their numbers was the winner! 🏆

Of course... if you rolled a number that was already covered... Wammmm... Wammmm... Wammmm! 😆 Better luck next turn! 😂🎲

Not only did we have a blast exercising our brains with a little math magic 🧠➕, but everyone also earned a Smart Buck 💵 through our Eat Smart, Live Strong program for participating in a healthy brain-boosting activity! Those Smart Bucks are adding up toward our next exciting Smart Bucks Raffle! 🎁🎉

There were smiles, laughter, friendly competition, and lots of cheering! 😄👏 We can already tell this game is going to become a favorite around Heritage Woods—we'll definitely be playing this one again! ❤️🎲🧮✨
