It be like that sometimes 💁🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ yet we still show up to train 🫠 Has anyone ever cried just bc after a hard roll? And turns out that you were just all hormonal but forgot your cycle is the reason why so for like a few hours you were trying to figure why you’re so depressed….and they you’re like oh yeah my period that’s why! And somehow you forget this lesson even though it happens monthly? It’s not just me right 🤣😬

LOAD YOUR PLANKS!

Abs, just like your pelvic floor, benefit from progressive overloading too :) Regular planks plateau quickly. Adding load lets you continue adapting.

They have carryover to lifting and jits— they help with bracing in squats, deadlifts, overhead work, and grappling.

They help improve trunk stiffness — important for power transfer in powerlifting, sparring, sprinting, and change of direction.

Tip: do them with a friend so you don’t suffer alone 😆

Trying something new isn’t just physical… it’s mental training too. Better focus, coordination, and it pulls you out of your routine. You’re building new mind-muscle connections and the end results? More confidence, and better adaptability under pressure.

Why? Well for one- Upper body stability: Catching a heavy bar overhead forces you to stabilize through shoulders, triceps, and upper back.

IMO balancing any overhead press with the bench press is helpful to keep a healthy scapulothoracic rhythm.

This means balancing that constant scapular retraction (keeping shoulder blades together) needed for the bench with having your shoulder blade naturally move upward with your arm as you reach overhead.

Side note (I guess it’s not the end 🤣):
After some cycles of heavy lifting I like do things that challenge me in a different way, or learn new things like Olympic lifts. Makes me feel athletic instead of my usual sloth like vibe.
