Design Mechanical Inc was recognized for its employee engagement and retention initiative focused on strengthening the field employee experience during The Heartland Group's 2026 Innovator Awards.

By listening directly to new hires and field employees, their team identified opportunities to improve onboarding, technology training, communication, and access to resources. From there, they redesigned their onboarding process, created a comprehensive New Hire Field Book, and launched engagement and safety surveys to ensure employees have a voice beyond their first day on the job.

The result is a stronger support system that helps employees feel prepared, connected, and valued from the start.

Congratulations to Design Mechanical, Inc. on this well-deserved recognition and for leading with a people-first approach to innovation.

In honor of National Safety Month, we’re proud to highlight TW Frierson Contractor, Inc., the recipient of Generations Group Innovator Award.

Their submission showcased a thoughtful and intentional approach to safety, one that empowers employees, strengthens communication, supports mental health and well-being, and uses technology to help identify risks before they become incidents.

With “Safety on Purpose” at the center of their efforts, T.W. Frierson is proving that safety is more than a requirement. It is a culture, a commitment and a foundation for people to thrive.

Delta Indemnity Group and Blue Print brought the energy to New Orleans for a combined Risk Control Workshop.

The groups spent time learning, collaborating and sharing insights throughout the workshop, then continued the connection over dinner at Tableau by Dickie Brennan’s. They wrapped up day two with a half-day session before heading home.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this combined workshop a meaningful and productive experience. We’re grateful for the continued engagement and strong partnerships that make these events so valuable.

Complete Structure came together in Costa Rica this March for their Annual Board of Directors Meeting.

The week was filled with connection and memorable moments. The group dinner at Patagonia del Mar was a standout favorite, with a live band and full dance floor following the awards ceremony creating an unforgettable evening.

A special recognition to Mark Rook CHST, Safety Director for AMS Mechanical Services Inc., who attended his final meeting ahead of his retirement this summer.

As part of a founding member company, Mark has been a constant presence for more than 20 years, missing just one Risk Control Workshop. In a heartfelt moment, the group surprised him with custom “farewell tour” t-shirts, reflecting the deep appreciation across the organization.

Here’s to continued success and the strong partnerships that make Complete Structure what it is today!

The summer heat isn't just uncomfortable — it's a liability.

OSHA has made it official: heat hazards now account for 6% of all federal agency inspections over the last five years.

A solid heat illness prevention plan protects your employees and your business.

The revision includes a revised list of “high-risk” industries and guidance for agency inspectors on issuing citations.

Twenty years ago, Val Schweiger joined our team. Before many of today’s teams and infrastructure were in place, Val stepped in wherever needed and got it done.

Today, Val is a Vice President and Shareholder who knows nearly every captive member and professional partner by name and has the photos (and probably the original board book) to prove just how far we’ve come.

Outside of her career, she loves the outdoors, staying active, and being her grandson’s biggest fan. She pours her heart into everything she does, and always has. 💜

Congratulations on 20 years, Val. ICS would not be what it is today without you.
