The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan you have come to love today at 1521 Washington St. was opened in December of 2008 by Daniel R. Patch and Daniel R. Patch, Jr. The Patch family purchased the building from the Marsh family.

The building was previously home of the Marsh Funeral Home for almost 70 years.

Alondra Carlos, de 24 años de edad, entro al eterno descanso el 28 de julio 2026. Hija mayor de Jorge Carlos Reyes y Lorena Muñoz; Alondra nacio el 17 de octubre 2001.

Desde pequeña Alondra siempre fue una joven resueña, cariñosa y sobre todo noble. Le causaba mucha felicidad poder ayudar a los demas, y siempre tenia un consejo o algo lindo que decirte. Fue su humilde y sensilla manera de ser que la guio a ir a la universidad y completar su carrera como consejera en la universidad College of Lake County y trabajar en una escuela con niños autistas.

Alondra encontraba alegria en cosas simples de la vida, ya sea ir a caminar o ver peliculas con su familia los domingos. Se le diagnostico cancer sarcoma hace un año, Alondra lucho con valentia y siempre con mucho optimismo hasta el ultimo dia.

A Alondra le sobreviven sus queridos padres Jorge y Lorena; sus hermanos Emiliano y Sinai; su amigo fiel, su pastor aleman, Simba; Muchas tias, tios, primas, primos y amistades quienes tuvieron el honor de conocerla.

Guillermo Cerda Fabian, de 55 años, falleció el 26 de julio 2026 en Glenbrook Hospital en Glenview. Guillermo nacio el 26 de agosto 1971 en Pinicuaro, municipio de Moroleón, Guanajuato, Mexico. Hijo de Angel Cerda Aguirre y Elpidia Fabian.

Le sobreviven sus tres hijos, hermanos, familia extendida aquí y en México.

Su velorio sera el domingo, 2 de agosto 2026 de 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm en la funeraria The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. Every time we receive a review like this, we are overcome with gratitude! Christian shared that during the darkest point for his family, the team at The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services became a source of comfort and strength, walking with them from the very first moment through the final farewell.

We are grateful to have cared for this family through their grief and honored to have helped them give their Uncle the goodbye he deserved. All people deserve this.

Mario R Arriaga, of Waukegan, passed away on July 9, 2026, a week after his 68th birthday. Mario was born July 2, 1958 in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. He was a member of Holy Family Church and remained a lifelong area resident for over 50 years.

Mario’s charismatic outgoing and friendly personality allowed him to make friends wherever he would go. He was an entrepreneur and promoted many bands to local venues. He enjoyed watching soccer with his family, above all his greatest joy was being a grandpa.

Mario is survived by his children Melissa (Samuel) Roses, Genevieve Arreaga, Eric (Cynthia) Arriaga, Josephina Arreaga, Jacqueline Arreaga, Sasha (Jesus) Leon, stepchild Michelle Reyes; grandkids Elijah, Eric Jr, Gabriel (Yadhira), Samantha, David, Jaxon, Aria, Luca; great grand daughter Alyza; a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.

His visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. His final viewing will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 beginning at 9:00 am with a prayer service at 10:30 am, at the funeral home as well. July is the perfect month to be THANKFUL!
With America's 250th birthday celebrations this past weekend its incredible to see all this country has accomplished over the many years. What can you do to make the world around you a better place? Change and growth starts with each individual and we are so thankful to get to live here in the USA.
