Our hearts go out to Laurie and Linda as they mourn the loss of their beloved rescue dog and therapy companion, Ava. If you see them, please join us in sharing your condolences.

Ava, alongside her companion partner Billie Jean, brought comfort and companionship to residents at St. Elizabeth Home in Janesville. Ava's gentle spirit made everyone feel at ease, a gift she had long before becoming a companion dog. Linda first saw that special quality as Ava spent hours curled up in the lap of her mother, Betty, offering quiet comfort and unconditional love.

What began as a way to share Ava's compassionate nature grew into years of meaningful visits that touched the lives of so many residents, families, and caregivers. Whether she was nestled in someone's arms or simply offering her calm presence, Ava had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, loved, and at peace.

Thank you, Ava, for the comfort and joy you shared so freely. Your paw prints will remain on the hearts of everyone whose lives you touched. You will be deeply missed.

Commonheart team members gathered for a fun evening at a Lake Country DockHounds game for a staff appreciation event in Oconomowoc!

A private gathering space and gorgeous summer weather set the stage for delicious food and a great game. Several of Commonheart's newest team members were able to attend, making it a wonderful opportunity to meet colleagues and build new relationships.

One of the evening's highlights was hearing everyone's laughter throughout much of the game—a joyful reminder of the camaraderie and friendships between coworkers.

Commonheart thanks its incredible team members for everything they do each day. We are proud to celebrate you and grateful for the dedication and compassion you bring to those we serve.

Compassionate care goes beyond medical support. Through our donation-funded Last Wishes and Because We Care programs, Commonheart is able to address unique needs, ease burdens, and create meaningful moments for patients and their families.

The Last Wishes Program helps fulfill meaningful end-of-life wishes for those on hospice care, creating lasting memories for patients and their loved ones. Whether it’s a special visit, a favorite meal, or one final experience, these wishes honor what matters most to each individual.

The Because We Care Program provides financial assistance for essential needs that fall outside traditional insurance coverage, helping to ease burdens when unexpected needs arise. Donations to this fund allow Commonheart to respond with compassion and extend support beyond clinical services.

Commonheart is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to walking alongside patients and their families through every step of their journey. We are committed to caring for the whole person, not just their physical health, but their emotional, spiritual, and social wellbeing. The Commonheart Sporting Clay Shootout helps make this mission possible.
