💙 Meet Lucy Schmidt 💙 a member of our office staff!

Lucy has been working at the Wausau Surgery Center for five years! Her roll is administrative support for the office staff.

Lucy's favorite part about working here is getting to meet new people every day, along with having great coworkers. Everyone she works with is friendly and has a positive attitude. She said, "Everyone is like a big family."

What motivates Lucy every day is getting the chance to help people, accomplishing work, and knowing that she's making a difference.

Her piece of advice to everyone would be to love your job and be positive!

What is a Time Out? It is a critical pause before every procedure to confirm the correct patient, correct site, and the correct surgery.

This life-saving protocol helps foster a culture of safety in the OR.

How Time Outs make a difference in the OR:
✔️ Prevent surgical errors through a standardized, team-wide pause
✔️ Empower OR team members to raise concerns when something doesn’t feel right
✔️ Strengthen communication among surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and techs
