North Central Health Care is hiring Cooks and Dietary Aides to join our Nutritional Services team in Wausau!

Whether you love being in the kitchen or enjoy making someone’s day a little better through friendly service, you’ll play an important role in helping care for the people who count on us.

👨‍🍳 Cook | $19.40–$21.13/hour
Put your cooking skills to work preparing quality meals for residents, patients, employees and visitors. Previous healthcare cooking experience is a plus, but not required!

🥗 Dietary Aide | $15.18–$16.53/hour
Help prepare and serve meals, keep things running smoothly in the kitchen, and make dining a positive experience for the people we serve. Evening shifts also qualify for an extra $1.50/hour shift differential!

Last week, North Central Health Care's Crisis Assessment Response Team (CART) had the opportunity to join the Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District for their 3rd Annual Mental Health & Wellness Day! 🧠✨

Our CART team spent the morning connecting with students in grades 6–12 through interactive games and team-building activities designed to encourage teamwork, communication, and positive connections.

A big THANK YOU to the students and staff for inviting us to be part of this awesome event!

We're proud of our CART team for getting out into the community, connecting with local youth, and helping make conversations about mental health a little more approachable!

North Central Health Care was proud to be part of the Screenagers: Next Chapter community screening at Wausau West High School.

We were there to support the event, connect with community members, and share information about the mental health resources available through NCHC.

Events like this create important opportunities to talk about youth mental health, screen time, stress, and ways we can better support young people in our community.

Thank you to the Marathon County Mental Health Collaborative and Wausau Early Birds Rotary Club for bringing this important conversation to our community!

👋 We’re out meeting future coworkers!

NCHC is traveling around Wisconsin to connect with some of the BEST future employees and hopefully bring great talent back home to Marathon County. Today, we were at UWGB Career Planning's Career, Internship & Opportunities Fair, connecting with job seekers interested in opportunities across STEM, healthcare, nonprofit and government.

We had a great time meeting new people, talking about the work happening at North Central Health Care and sharing what a career with NCHC can look like.

💜 What a great day at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s! 💜

On Saturday, NCHC staff, families, friends and Mount View Care Center Residents came together at Marathon Park to walk, connect and show their support for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

We were especially excited to have our friends at Cycling Without Age Marathon County there, giving Mount View residents the opportunity to experience the event from a whole new perspective as they were piloted around the event!

A big thank you to Walk to End Alzheimer's - Wausau for hosting such a meaningful event, and to everyone in our community who came out to participate and show their support. It was wonderful to see so many people come together for a cause that touches so many lives.

THANK YOU to everyone who joined our NCHC team, helped a resident participate, volunteered, donated or simply showed up.

☔💙 A little rain didn’t stop NCHC this weekend!

Our teams pulled double duty on Saturday, showing up in Wausau for NAMI Northwoods’ Hope In Motion AND in Antigo for Langlade County Diversion Program's Unity in the Community event. Two events with one shared goal: connecting people with support, resources, and hope.

In Antigo, more than 400 doses of Narcan were distributed during Unity in the Community as organizations came together to reduce stigma, support recovery, remember those lost to addiction, and connect people with resources.

Meanwhile in Wausau, our team braved the rain at Hope In Motion, sharing youth and adult mental health resources and connecting with so many community members who came out in support of mental health awareness and su***de prevention.

Rainy? Definitely. Worth it? Absolutely.

We’re proud to keep showing up for our communities, rain or shine! ☔️🙌
