Lorraine “Lori” K. Wesolowski

65, passed away Saturday, October 24, at home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. Lori was born May 7th, 1961, to Gordon and MaryAnn Zahn in Racine WI. She graduated from Wausaukee High School. She worked at Decor Products in Wausaukee off and on when the boys were younger but went back fulltime as they got older. Lori married Mike Wesolowski on August 17th, 1990. Lori enjoyed crafting, spending time with family and friends. Lori and Mike always had a few pets around, she loved animals. Lori enjoyed spending time outside and collecting. Lori was always a joy to be around.

Lori is survived by her two sons Thad (Ashley) Wojcik, Kevin (Kara) Wojcik, 5 granddaughters, Madi, Payton, Reagan, Taylor and Kaylee, Mother MaryAnn Zahn. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike, Father Gordon Zahn, Sister Holly Lequia and In Laws Chester and Betty Wesolowski.

There will be a private burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Wausaukee.

Jonathon “Jon” Prah

age 50, of Athelstane, died unexpectedly with his family by his side at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee on October 10, 2026. He was born in Shawano on December 27, 1975; son of Dennis and Bonnie (Bantin) Prah. Jon graduated from Shawano High School. He had a deep love for the great outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, whether on the ice or open water during the warmer months. Some of his most cherished memories were made fishing alongside his dad. Jon was also an avid hunter, with deer hunting holding a special place in his heart. Whether he was spending time in the wilderness, casting a line, or simply relaxing around a bonfire, Jon found great joy and peace in the outdoors.

Jon is survived by his parents: Dennis and Bonnie; two brothers: Jason (Crescent) Prah and Jeff Prah; special sister, Kelly and all her Wiedemeier family members.

Visitation will be on Thursday October 22, 2026, at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Athelstane from 9am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11am. Pastor Kevin Robinson is officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Cliff Cemetery.

Cindy Marie Peterson

age 69, of New London, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at Brewster Village Nursing Home in Appleton after courageously facing multiple health issues over several years. Born on August 3, 1957, Cindy was the eldest child of Elmer Herman Peterson II and Irene Dorothy (DeChant) Peterson, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up with a deep sense of responsibility, compassion, and fierce loyalty—traits that shaped her entire life and touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Cindy graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1975, a milestone that marked the beginning of her lifelong dedication to caring for others.

Cindy is survived by her siblings Mark Peterson, David Peterson, Dick Peterson (Sue), and Rue Wiegand (Rob). She is also lovingly remembered for the brother she never got to grow up with, Elmer Peterson III, who was stillborn. Cindy leaves behind her dear friends Patricia Gannon, Jon Williams, Linda Thill and Andrea Dorh, who were like family to her, as well as her two cherished cats, George and Lilly. She is further survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Cindy dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked in factory positions early on and served with the Crivitz Rescue Squad, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to helping people in need. She later spent over 20 years as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), providing hands on care and comfort to countless patients and families. She also worked as a cashier at Walmart, always bringing kindness and humor to those she met.

Her passions were as vibrant as her personality. Cindy adored animals of every kind and once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She served as a rabbit judge at the Marinette County Fair and was active in 4 H during her youth. Creative to her core, Cindy excelled at beadwork, soap making, baking, and countless other crafts. If it could be made by hand, Cindy could make it beautifully.

Cindy’s faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was deeply devoted to God and found comfort in prayer, especially during her years of declining health. She often spoke of her hope for heaven and the joy of receiving a new, whole body—an unwavering belief that brought her peace and strength.

Those who knew Cindy will remember her compassion, her humor, her artistic spirit, and her unwavering devotion to the people she loved. She was a caregiver in every sense of the word—empathetic, protective, and always ready to stand up for her friends. In a world that can often be unkind, Cindy chose to lead with understanding and a generous heart.

Her presence made life gentler. Her absence will be deeply felt.

Visitation will be on Saturday October 24, 2026, at Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee from 10am until the time of her Memorial Service at 11am. Burial will be in the Amberg Cemetery. There will be a meal served at the Middle Inlet Town Hall after burial service.

Andrew “Andy” Tyrcha

age 68, of Niagara, passed away unexpectedly Monday September 14, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson. He was born in Chicago on March 16, 1958; son of the late John and Genevieve (Lawson) Tyrcha. Andy was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Susie, on June 23, 2012, and they shared 14 wonderful years of marriage together. From an early age, Andy developed a fascination with trains, especially model trains, which remained a special interest throughout his life. He also had a deep passion for music and loved playing his guitar. Andy was a lifelong avid Chicago Bears fan. Throughout his battle with leukemia, Andy fought a courageous and valiant fight, facing each challenge with strength and determination.

Andy is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Susie; four siblings: Barbara (Bob) Schroeder, Steven Tyrcha, Dawn Radvilas, and Jeannine Dukes; mother-in-law and father-in-law: William and Anita Neuburg; brothers-in-law: Joe (Debra) and Billy (Felicia) Neuburg; and further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday September 26, 2026, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Kimberly Ave, Iron Mountain from 10am until the time of his Memorial Service at 11am. Rev. Dr. Nicholas Hopman is officiating. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery at a later date.

Edmund “Ed” Willis

age 94, of Alexandria, VA, died peacefully on September 1, 2026, at The Fairfax, Ft. Belvoir, VA. He was born in Norway, MI on March 28, 1932; son of the late Philip and Pearle (Chenoweth) Willis. Ed was a 1950 graduate of Pembine High School. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, where he earned his Ph.D. In 1955, Ed proudly entered the United States Navy and served his country honorably, ultimately attaining the rank of Captain.

Following his active military service in 1958, Ed enrolled in graduate studies in history at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1962, he returned to inactive military duty while continuing his education and pursuing his doctorate in history at UC Berkeley. Ed was also an avid world traveler, visiting many countries throughout his lifetime, including Portugal, China, and Japan. Of all the places he traveled, Ireland held a special place in his heart and remained his favorite destination.

Ed is survived by his two daughters: Laura Winans and Linda Willis; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday September 17, 2026, at Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee from 10am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11am. Pastor Ken Sann is officiating. Burial will be in the Pembine Cemetery with full military honors.

Susan LaCoy

age 83, of Wausaukee, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday August 30, 2026. She was born in Chicago on October 18, 1942; daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Frohardt) Anderson. Susan graduated from Woodstock High School-Illinois in 1960. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served as both a ruling elder and Deacon. Susan enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes, including cross-stitching, crocheting, reading, cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers, and attending Wausaukee Ranger sporting events. She had a love for travel, especially her annual trips to Mackinac Island and memorable journeys to London. Susan was also a member of a photography club and greatly enjoyed capturing special moments alongside her dear friend, BJ Lanich.

Above all, Susan treasured the time she spent with her family. They were truly the most important part of her life and meant the world to her.

Susan is survived by her children: David (Kim) Buckner, Tim (Sherry) Buckner, and Annette (Tod Levandoski) LaCoy; 11 grandchildren: Chelsey (Michael), Brett, Bryce, Kyle, Daniel, Jessica, Jamie Lynne, Ashlie (Nick), Morgan, Brett, and Jahna; four great grandchildren: Noah, Maci, Brooks and Callum; sister Judith Anderson; and cousin, Lynn Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; and daughter, Patti.

Visitation will be on Thursday September 3, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church in Wausaukee from 10am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11am. Pastor Ken Sann is officiating.

Milan Antonin Kvaca

age 79, from Pembine, WI passed away unexpectedly at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in the ED on August 28, 2026, and has gone home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to continue on with his eternal life with his beloved family. Milan was born on March 9, 1947, to Ludvik Kvaca and Ružena (Kohlerova) Kvacova during a flood that forced he and his mother to evacuate onto a bridge. Milan grew up in Prague, Czechoslovakia along with his two brothers, Ludvik Kvaca, Jr. and Zdenek Kvaca. As a young child, he was the lead character in a movie. After completing trade school as a tool and die maker, Milan proudly served his country with dedication and loyalty. When the Russians invaded Czechoslovakia, he was forced to flee the country and sought refuge in Austria. Eventually, with the assistance of a sponsor, Milan was accepted into the United States, arriving with hope for a new beginning despite not knowing a word of English. When Milan landed in the United States on July 1, 1970, he was so happy that he kissed the ground. He actually dreamed of coming to the United States since childhood. Milan became a United States Citizen on July 31, 1984, while residing in Berwyn, Illinois. In 1987, he moved to “Pembine America” where he made his “Garden of Eden”.

On her birthday February 26, 2000, Milan met the love of his life, Darlene Kornita, and they were married on May 15, 2010. Together they turned the “Garden of Eden” into a “Paradise on Earth” where they loved nature. Milan often said “if Japan can make it, I can fix it” and always kept the “can do” attitude. He could fix anything.

Milan was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, sister-in-law Antonie Kvacova, and his best friend Ric Sparapani. He is survived by his three nieces, Zdena (Jiri) Vogel, and their children Matous, Veronika, and ZuZana, and Marcela Matejkova, and her son Miroslav Matejcek, and Helena Kvacova, and his sister-in-law Helena Kvacova. He is survived by his step-children, Elizabeth Kornita, and Stephen (Sara) Kornita. He is also survived by his many in-laws, including Donna (Bernard) McVane, Joanne (Thomas) DeVetter, John Jakups, Jim (Laura) Jakups, Jody Jakups, and Jayme (Veronica) Jakups, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday September 5, 2026, at Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee from 9am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11am. Pastor Lin Wittmann is officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery-Wausaukee at a later date.

Ruth Ann (Abbey) Behnke

79 years old, of Wausaukee, Wisconsin, passed away in the hope of the Resurrection through Jesus Christ on August 26th, 2026. Born on November 26th, 1946, she was adopted by Jenice (Pedersen/Abbey) Tonn and Gilbert Abbey of Marinette, Wisconsin. As a granddaughter of Charles and Ruth Pedersen of Pedersen Fisheries, Marinette heritage ran deep in her roots. She loved her nation and took pride in her ancestor “Honest John” Hart, a delegate to the Second Continental Congress who signed his name to the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Her biological father, Charles Gay of France, a circus performer and lion trainer, passed along a lion-taming and entrepreneurial spirit to his daughter, who wore many hats in her life as a homeschooling mother, waitress, restaurant manager, and caretaker for the elderly, as well as a restaurateur, successful Avon representative, and resale shop owner.

Ruth was a devoted and endlessly supportive mother and caring grandmother. As a deep-feeling, strong woman of faith, growth, and persistence, she was tender-hearted toward the helpless and hurting and offered many unwanted, lost animals a healing hand, a loving home, and a warm lap. She valued and preserved treasures others might overlook or disregard.

Ruth is survived by her husband Alan, her sister Shirley Neve, her children, Jesse Arnold and Sarah (Aaron) VanDeBogert, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother and father and her daughters, Jenice Eastman and Britta Sorenson.

Visitation will be on Tuesday September 1, 2026, at Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee from 10am until the time of her Funeral Service at 12pm. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery-Marinette.

Mathew “Matt” Mattison

92, of Amberg, WI, succumbed to health failures while being attended to at Aurora Medical in Green Bay and has gone home to share his eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. As he was crossing life’s bridge to the afterlife, Jesus was there as promised, to es**rt him and show him the glories of heaven of which we can’t even imagine. As he entered through the glorious gates, we are assured that he was met there by his beloved family and friends all sharing in a joyous homecoming celebration of another of God’s good and faithful servants. Matt was one of seven children born to Matt (Matti) and Ruth (Port) Mattison, all raised in the small town of Amberg that Matt loved so much. All the children, five boys (Raymond, Glenn, Alvin, Matt, Kenny) and girls (Ruby, Dorothy) would end up having significant influences on Amberg as they reached their adult years, Matt being no exception. Matt would serve his town for over seventy years in multiple capacities, from Fire Chief to Town Chairman, of which, “Mr. Amberg” served for 42 years. He was always giving to his town.

Matt started his working vocation as a self-employed logger in Amberg, cutting and hauling pulpwood to the local mills. A few years later, his uncle and his father-in-law would introduce him to the ironworking trade, a profession that he would make one of his career choices. Construction work would pay well, but often there were layoffs between jobs, so Matt would continue to log in the off times, as well as start to develop his “hobby ranch”. Ironworking also offered Matt the opportunity to purchase some
heavy equipment which he loved to operate but never made a business of.

Very few other things could put a smile on Matt’s face as when he had the diesel smoke rolling as he was pushing huge yards of dirt with his bulldozer. “Hard work is good for the body and soul” was one of Matt’s lifelong mottos, and he definitely lived what he believed. If he had what some call “spare time”, he would fill it helping others with their projects or help the township with its maintenance and repair issues, all at no cost to those he was helping. Matt’s legacy was built on hard work and friendship.
Although work of some sort held a big place in Matt’s life, his first love was his wife, “Mitzi”, whom he shared just shy of seventy years together, his family, and the extended families. Virginia (Mitzi) preceded Matt in death just over four years ago, but is now happily joined with him again, sharing their heavenly mansion.

After living on this earth for 92 years, Matt was preceded in death by many beloved family members and friends. He was the last surviving member of the family he was raised with. His immediate family survivors include his son and daughter-in-law (Matt and Sheryl (Sam) Mattison; his daughter Kim Mattison; and his daughter Jody Renikow, whose husband Carl just recently passed. He has three surviving grandchildren (Matt and spouse Kelly Mattison, Cody Renikow, and Matti Renikow), three great grandchildren (Emily and spouse Zack Ridgely, AJ Mattison, Paige Mattison), and three great, great grandchildren (Olivia, Cory, and Delaney Ridgely).

Friends may call at the Amberg United Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 4th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1p.m., with funeral services and burial services to follow. Luncheon will be served at the Amberg Community Center directly after the services at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.

Matt will be missed by many and his firm handshake and great hugs remembered for a long time.

Audrey Mae Kelly

age 89, of Pembine, passed away peacefully at Maryhill Manor in Niagara on August 22, 2026 and was looking forward to being welcomed into the loving arms of Jim and Sheri once again. She was born in Milwaukee on September 29, 1936, daughter of the late John and Hazel (Williams) Reed. Audrey graduated from Pembine High School in 1954. On November 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to James Kelly Sr. Audrey worked as an accountant until 1980, when she and James purchased the former Whicker's Grocery Store in Beecher and renamed it Kelly’s Market. She dedicated many long hours to the store, taking great pride in keeping it clean and well-stocked while making sure every customer felt welcomed and appreciated. In 2006, Audrey and James sold the market.

Following James’ passing in 2009, Audrey founded the Rain Dancers, a group dedicated to providing support, friendship, and companionship to women grieving the loss of a loved one. Their motto, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain,” reflected the strength and resilience they shared with one another.

Audrey was a longtime and devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pembine, where she gave her time from working in the office to singing in the choir and many things in between. She also enjoyed working on the computer, spending time with her friends, and, most importantly, being surrounded by her family. Audrey will be remembered for her caring heart, strong work ethic, and the love she shared with those around her.

Audrey is survived by her three children: Elise (Ray) White, James (Dawn) Kelly Jr., and Todd Kelly; seven grandchildren: Melissa (Nathan) Pamperin, Kevin (Jennifer) White, Dane (Kendra) Kelly, Brant Kelly, Heather (Chris) Weigand, Heidi (Steven) Torres, and TJ (Skylar) Kelly; nine great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Valerie, Lilly, Kinnley, Payton, Macy, Owen, Tommy, and Dawson. She was preceded in death by her husband James; daughter, Sheri; daughter-in-law, Donna; and brothers: Kenneth and Charles.

Visitation will be on Friday August 28, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Pembine from 2pm until the time of her Funeral Service at 3pm. Deacon Lori Ward and Rev. Dr. Michael J. Langlais are officiating. Burial will be in the Pembine Cemetery.
