Sunday Morning Devotional

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7

There are seasons in life when the weight on our hearts feels almost too heavy to carry.

Grief can do that.
The loss of someone we love can leave us holding questions, memories, and emotions that seem larger than we are.

In Scripture, God gives a simple but powerful invitation:
Cast your cares on Him.

Not hold them tighter.
Not hide them.
Not pretend they aren’t there.

Cast them.

Like setting down a burden that was never meant to be carried alone.

For families who are mourning, this doesn’t mean grief disappears overnight. Love runs too deep for that. But it does mean that in the middle of sorrow, we are not left to walk the road alone. God cares deeply for the brokenhearted and invites us to bring every worry, every tear, and every question to Him.

If today feels heavy, take a quiet moment and place that weight in His hands.

He cares for you.

Today is National Mortician Day!

We are grateful for the privilege of serving families in our community during life’s most difficult moments. Funeral service is a calling rooted in compassion, care, and attention to detail.

Today marks the beginning of Lent.

Ash Wednesday reminds us of our humanity, that life is fragile, time is sacred, and what we do with it matters. It is a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal.

Over the next 40 days, may we slow down, draw closer to what truly matters, and carry hope with us, even in life’s hardest moments.

As we step into a new year, our hearts are filled with gratitude. For six generations, our family has had the privilege of serving these communities, walking alongside you in moments of loss, remembrance, and love.

We do not take that trust lightly. Each family, each story, and each life entrusted to our care has shaped who we are and why we continue this work.

Merry Christmas!

Today we celebrate the greatest gift ever given. A gift of hope, peace, love, and new life.

In the midst of the lights, the gatherings, and the joy of the season, may our hearts be gently drawn back to the manger. To the reminder that God came near. That He entered our world with humility and grace. That even in darkness, light was born.

There will always be a last Christmas with the ones we love, even though we rarely know it at the time.

As we move into a season filled with family gatherings, traditions, and celebration, we also want to pause and acknowledge something that often goes unspoken. For many families, this Christmas is not wrapped in perfect holiday cheer. It is quieter. It carries absence. It holds memories that ache a little more this time of year.

At Grisier Funeral Homes, we recognize that truth deeply. This season, our own family understands it more than ever as we experience our first Christmas without Fred.

We are reminded of the promise found in Scripture:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

If this Christmas feels heavy for you, please know you are not alone. We see you, we honor your grief, and we hold space for both remembrance and hope as the season unfolds.
