Dr. John Vukich had the privilege to participate in the 2026 American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery (AECOS) Summer Symposium in Deer Valley, Utah this past weekend.

He had the opportunity to share a presentation on special considerations for refractive surgery in pilots and to participate in 5 different panel discussions. These meetings bring together outstanding surgeons from around the world to exchange ideas, challenge current thinking, and advance the field of ophthalmology.

The opportunity to learn from colleagues, share experiences, and discuss complex cases is invaluable—and ultimately helps us provide the highest level of care to our patients at Summit Eye Care.🌟

Dr. John Vukich was asked to present the Harold Gifford, MD Memorial Lecture at the University of Nebraska Department of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting this past weekend!👏👏

His lecture, “The Evolution of Intraocular Lens Technology,” highlighted the innovations that have shaped modern cataract surgery—from early lens designs to today’s advanced technologies that allow us to better personalize vision for our patients.👁️✨

After decades of dedicated service, it’s time to say goodbye to an incredible optometrist and cherished friend, Dr. Mark Mlsna. His passion for eye care and unwavering commitment to his patients have made a lasting impact on our practice and the surrounding community.

From his keen eye for detail, to his innate ability to fix ANYTHING (Summit’s very own MacGuyver!), to his compassionate approach, he has always gone above and beyond to ensure that every single patient received the best care possible. His expertise and advice will be greatly missed, but we are grateful for all the lives he has touched along the way.
