Do you know what psoriasis is?

Psoriasis is a chronic (long lasting) skin condition that happens when the immune system builds skin cells too quickly. It’s often caused by genetics or triggered by stress, illness or certain medicines.

Although there’s no cure for psoriasis, your doctor can help you manage your symptoms with medication and lifestyle changes.

This week, we honor the crucial role community health centers have played for many decades. National health centers deliver accessible, high-quality care to millions of people throughout America each day, strengthening the health and well-being of communities large and small.

At My Choice Wisconsin by Molina Healthcare, we’re proud to join in this year’s theme: “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most.” We celebrate the continued creativity and commitment to meeting patients where they are and improving primary care delivery, access and outcomes nationwide.

Thank you to all the providers, staff and advocates working to deliver better health outcomes in our communities.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to impact air quality in many parts of the U.S.

Poor air quality can irritate your eyes and throat, trigger asthma, and increase the risk of more serious heart and lung problems.

Here are a few ways to protect yourself:

- Limit time outside
- Wear a facemask if you must go outdoors
- Close windows and doors
- Run your home and car air conditioners on the recirculating air setting
- Limit activities that increase indoor air pollution, like vacuuming
- Check your local air quality and weather alerts before heading outdoors

Taking a few simple precautions can help protect you and your family until air quality improves.

Healthy Vision Month is a good reminder to focus on something we often take for granted: our eyes!

Most of us spend hours a day looking at screens, like phones, laptops and televisions. But too much screen time can lead to eye problems like blurred vision, double vision, eye strain, dry eyes and headaches.

Try the 20-20-20 rule to relax your eye muscles and reduce strain. And be sure to get an eye exam every year!
