Crunch time! As a mom of 3 busy boys, I know how hard it is to fit in time to exercise.

When I develop a home program for my clients, the exercises aren’t extensive or “cookie cutter.” They are individualized, prioritized and change weekly based on goals and progress.
I’m here to cheer you on!

If you’re looking to restart exercise and don’t know where to begin or if you’re interested in gifting an individualized exercise program, DM me for a phone consult and more information.

What is CORE WELLNESS?
Core Wellness is a balance between strength and flexibility; an awareness of alignment and breath; it’s a place where your body is so attuned to the small things, that it has no other choice but to find freedom in movement…less pain in movement…more joy in movement.

Does Prenatal PT work?...
Here's what patients are saying...
“I really think that all the exercises and strength I built up working with you (Core Wellness Physical Therapy) really paid off and for that, I'm eternally grateful. It was such a different experience this time around in terms of incontinence [in pregnancy]...I think those transverse ab workouts will have a huge impact on leakage, especially now that I'm no longer pregnant.”

Juuuust a few postures that your low back, SI joint, pelvis and pelvic floor aren’t too enthused about… and neither am I.
1. The hip pop
2. The butt tuck/butt clench
3. The slouched, cross legged sitting position.

The lower vertebrae in the lumbar spine and the SI joint are primary weight bearing joints. Repetitive postures that cause asymmetrical strain, improper weight distribution and incorrect muscle activation can contribute to pain and wear and tear.

A little education (and correct posture) can go a long way!

Bladder irritants anyone?
🍸🍺☕️🍷🧋🍾🥛🍫🍅🍒🍉🍊🍓🍋🍍
Many people with overactive bladder, urinary urgency, and leakage can begin to find relief by managing what goes INTO their bladder and increasing their water intake.
Common bladder irritants include: caffeine and alcohol.
Other significant irritants: Orange juice, milk products, strawberries, tea, artificial sweeteners, vitamin B complex, tomatoes, chocolate, spicy foods, and carbonated beverages.

Add some water to your daily routine for a happier, healthier, more manageable bladder!

🌟 This information is educational in nature...If you need help with where to begin with bladder issues, DM me for a screening. I am currently taking virtual and in-person clients.

Hey! I’m just over here in the cleanest corner of my home to share that OCTOBER is PHYSICAL THERAPY MONTH! Pictured with some of my equipment (gait belt, stability ball, foam roller and kettle bell)... AND perhaps with my children photo bombing me 😊.
Head on over to my stories to hear a little bit more about what Physical Therapy is and what we physical therapists do.

Intro time!
My name is Jessica. I am an orthopedic and women’s health physical therapist and owner of Core Wellness Physical Therapy LLC where my mission is to “Support a woman's physical wellness journey through
pregnancy, motherhood, and beyond."

I work with orthopedic conditions and also see women who may have pain, need strength or those who want to be empowered physically in the best way possible as they prepare for delivery or as they recover from pregnancy (regardless of how many months or years it’s been since that “last baby”). No one program is the same just as no one’s journey is the same through pain, pregnancy or postpartum recovery.

My approach is individualized, compassionate care... something that’s hard to come by in the current healthcare environment. And so, Core Wellness Physical Therapy was birthed.

Modified HIIT Workout!

Reasons to Modify a HIIT Workout...
💪 Diastasis (abdominal separation)
💪 Limited core control (pregnancy, stress incontinence/leaking with jumping/impact, recovery from back pain)
💪 Wanting to truly target specific muscle groups without compensations
💪 First time trying it/re-engaging HIIT after a long break
💪 New or chronic injury

I love a good HIIT work out, but sometimes modifications are necessary.

The last few months were a phase of healing and rebuilding for me after I had a few procedures on my foot. So I took this workout session to reassess and check in with my body... to dial DOWN the intensity and make sure I wasn’t compensating... to make sure my core was supported and not “doming”... to make sure my hips/gluts were working harder than my knees.

Technique and form with exercise matters! And sometimes dialing down the intensity ensures you’re getting the most of your work out, avoiding injury, and progressing appropriately.

💡 If you’re looking for ideas to create a core and strength program specific to your needs, I do virtual and in-person sessions and would be happy to help. DM me for a complimentary screening to get started.
