At this years congress we showed that fellowship trained surgeons are able to offer surgeries that OBGYN departments otherwise do not perform. High volume surgeons have better outcomes too! Great work Dr Sigourney!

Surgical videos are an important way for surgeons to learn, and to teach. Dr Morgan Briggs created a fantastic video showing a reproducible and safe technique for surgeons to tackle complex adhesions during laparoscopic surgery. Vaginoscopy is a technique that allows performance of hysteroscopy (placing a small telescope through the cervix, into the uterine cavity) in the office, without need for anesthesia. This procedure is not right for all patients, but for many it works great. I helped create a model for physicians to learn and practice this technique.

Hysteroscopy is often used to make assessments for abnormal uterine bleeding, remove polyps, and to retrieve IUDs when strings are not visible.
