✨Time to welcome another new member to the Ripple team! Everyone give a welcoming hello to MaryKatherine and be sure to keep an eye out for her on the schedule. Check out a little bit about her:
MaryKathryn was introduced to yoga as a recommendation to deal with tightness and fatigue from playing lacrosse throughout high school and college. Very soon a weekly practice turned into an every day activity, really any chance throughout the day activity. Yoga was not just a deep stretch but a way to connect mind, body soul. A way to heal from trauma.
A path to escape daily stress and mismanaged emotions. During a dark chapter of her life, it helped her get back to being herself. Someone she had thought she lost forever. Knowing the kindness and life saving abilities yoga can bring, MaryKathryn sought to spread the goodness of yoga as a somatic therapy to all. Our bodies hold all our tension and trauma, moving them helps release that, improving not only strength but also overall mobility and happiness.
Know you are worthy at every age and every stage, in MaryKathryn's class everybody and every body is welcome just as they are. As we go through life we can lose touch with our true selves, happiness, and our inner child. Yoga can help reconnect all our beautiful parts of ourselves. Over time we lose the easygoing attitude of our young selves. And through a lighthearted approach, MaryKathryn aims to bring her students back to that joyful playfulness.
As she often says, "Life is too short to not be silly and have fun". MaryKathryn's classes combine longer holds, allowing our bodies to meet our souls in every pose with soothing restorative poses that help present the balance that closely mirrors our lives. MaryKathryn obtained her 200-HR YTT in 2020 specializing in Yin-Vin, Vinyasa, Hatha and Kid / Family Yoga. She actively works on mobility and other fitness and wellness activities to improve her flow.
When MK is not teaching yoga, or leading a mobility class, giggling with families during kids' yoga, or pushing you on with elegance and strength in Barre, you can find her with her 3 amazing cats, baking, being out in nature or working on her plant based skincare brand and studying to be an esthetician.
If you like to take life not so seriously, build strength through stillness and grow in kindness—and of course have fun—then you'll fit right in with MK's teaching flow!
