🧰 FRIDAY TOOLS FOR LIFE 🧰

Put the Thought on Trial

An anxious or negative thought can feel true simply because it is loud. Before automatically believing it, pause and examine the evidence.

Ask yourself:

🔎 What thought am I having?
“I’m going to mess this up.”

🔎 What facts support this thought?
“I have made mistakes before.”

🔎 What facts do not support it?
“I have also handled difficult situations successfully, and I can ask for help.”

🔎 What is a more balanced thought?
“I may not do everything perfectly, but I can prepare, learn, and handle problems as they come.”

The goal is not to replace every negative thought with a positive one. It is to replace an extreme thought with one that is more complete, realistic, and helpful.

Remember: A thought is not automatically a fact.

🌿 THRIVING THURSDAY 🌿

Your past may help explain you, but it does not have to define you.

It is easy to believe that past mistakes, painful experiences, or old patterns will always determine who we are. However, healing allows us to learn from what happened without remaining trapped there.

You are allowed to grow beyond the person you once were. You can carry the wisdom forward without carrying all the shame, guilt, and pain with you. God is still writing your story, and the next chapter does not have to look like the last one. 🌱

📖 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
— Isaiah 43:18–19

You are not starting over—you are moving forward with everything you have learned. ❤️

🤣 WACKY WEDNESDAY 🤣

Me: “I’m going to put this somewhere safe so I don’t lose it.”

Also me two weeks later:
“I have absolutely no idea where it is.” 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Apparently, I put it somewhere so safe that it’s now protected from me too! 😂

Has anyone else ever hidden something from themselves?

🧰 FRIDAY TOOLS FOR LIFE 🧰

The Smallest Next Step

When a task feels overwhelming, your brain may respond by avoiding it completely. Instead of asking, “How am I going to finish all of this?” ask:

“What is the smallest step I can take right now?”

If you need to clean the house, the first step might be picking up five items.

If you need to make an appointment, the first step might be finding the phone number.

If you have a difficult project, the first step might be opening the document and writing one sentence.

The goal is not to finish everything at once. The goal is simply to begin. Once you take one manageable step, the next step often feels a little easier.

✅ Make it small
✅ Make it specific
✅ Make it something you can do now

When everything feels like too much, do not focus on the entire staircase—just take the next step.

🌿 THRIVING THURSDAY 🌿

Just because you cannot see the growth yet does not mean nothing is happening.

Before a plant ever breaks through the soil, it is developing roots beneath the surface. Healing and personal growth can be much the same. The small choices you make, the boundaries you set, the skills you practice, and the days you simply keep going are all strengthening your foundation.

Do not discount your progress because it feels slow. Growth is still growth—even when it is happening quietly. 🌱

📖 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9

Keep tending to what God is growing within you. Your season of visible change will come. ❤️

🤣 WACKY WEDNESDAY 🤣

Me: “I really need to make that phone call.”

Also me: Cleans the kitchen, reorganizes a drawer, checks the weather for next Tuesday, and suddenly decides it’s a great time to learn how penguins choose their mates. 🐧

Did I make the phone call?
Absolutely not.

Procrastination: because apparently every other task becomes interesting when there’s one thing you don’t want to do! 😂

Can anyone else relate?
