Tommy Ray Smith Jr., known affectionately to those who loved him as “Bubba,” began his journey on January 11, 1972, in Montgomery County, Texas. Born to Tommy Ray Smith Sr. and Eunice Marie Collins Smith, he was the oldest of six children. He was raised by parents who deeply instilled in him a strong work ethic, deep spiritual beliefs, and an absolute dedication and love for his family. From a young age, he learned the value of labor, stepping up at just 10 years old to work alongside his father building houses. When his father’s health declined, Bubba naturally took the lead to support his family, demonstrating the quiet, steady reliability that would characterize his entire life.

The foundational core of Bubba’s life took shape when he met his beloved wife, Cindy. They married on November 3, 1990, and spent over 35 years together, making their home in Henderson, Tennessee, and creating a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion. Bubba’s proudest achievement was becoming a father to their two boys, Joshua Blake and Travis Tyler. He poured his values of hard work and integrity into his sons, raising them with the same dedication he brought to every structural project he touched.

As a master craftsman, Bubba, while working alongside his father-in-law, expanded his knowledge into structural steel fabrication and er****on, eventually starting his own company, “Smith Welding.” Bubba left a permanent mark on the landscape of the Mid-South. The steel monuments and buildings he erected stand as a testament to his precision, pride, and skill.

While his hands built towering structures, his heart belonged to the great outdoors. Bubba was a true outdoorsman who found his greatest peace in nature. He possessed a deep passion for hunting, particularly duck hunting, and poured his dedication into raising champion Labrador retrievers.

He saw the beauty of the earth as something to be explored, a gift he cherished sharing through travels with his wife and sons. Whether he was setting sail on a cruise, taking in the familiar, peaceful mountains of Gatlinburg, or exploring the vast, rugged wilderness of Alaska, he loved the adventure of seeing new places. Closer to home, he found great joy in the simpler things, surrounding himself with the stories, movies, and music that he loved.

Bubba’s deep-rooted beliefs guided his actions, and his commitment to his family was unwavering. He was a devoted husband, a deeply proud father, a caring sibling, and a steadfast anchor for his loved ones during life’s storms. Bubba held the strong spiritual belief that even if he died, he had the hope he will live again. But until that time… his memory remains a brilliant light—like a shooting star that burned brightly, leaving behind a lasting warmth in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the family he adored and the enduring steel structures he built.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Bubba.

Michael David Sykes, age 63, of Waverly, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Born on September 28, 1962, Michael was the son of the late James Sidney Sykes and Betty Brazzle Sykes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dwight Darwin.

Michael worked for several years as an electrical lineman, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and willingness to tackle demanding work. He was known for his kind heart and the friendships he built throughout his life.

One of the things Michael will be remembered for most was the special bond he shared with his constant companion and best friend, Bull. Whether traveling around town or simply spending time together, it was a common sight to see Bull faithfully riding by Michael’s side.

Michael’s wishes were to be cremated with no services planned.

Eugene Ray Clark was born on June 5, 1958, in Sunbury, Maryland, to the late Hunter James Clark, Jr. and Mildred Francis (Harris) Clark. He entered the world with a loving older brother, Hunter James Clark III, who was twelve years his senior.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his brother. He is survived by his beloved stepbrother, Bryan Everett of Delaware.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Terri Claytina (Lewis) Clark of McKenzie, Tennessee. He also leaves behind his daughter, Samantha Rae Clark of Florida, and his son, Harris Robert Clark of Tennessee. He is additionally survived by his stepson, Corwyn Martin Lewis of Florida.

One of Eugene’s greatest joys in life was his family, especially his four cherished grandchildren—two granddaughters and two grandsons, all of Florida. During their early years, he served as the primary caregiver for his two oldest grandchildren, creating a special bond with them as their beloved “Papa.” Those memories of time spent together will remain treasured by his family. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Petty Officer Third Class Austin Darling of the United States Navy, the husband of Samantha.

For most of his working life, Eugene was a self-employed handyman who took great pride in his craftsmanship. After moving to Florida in the 1980s, he earned a reputation for exceptional drywall work and became known for helping families and investors renovate homes and businesses. His strong work ethic, skill, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned him the respect and appreciation of many throughout the years.

Eugene had a special love for animals, especially his faithful dogs, Athena and Bullseye. They were devoted companions who followed him everywhere, and the bond they shared brought him great joy and comfort throughout the years.

Eugene will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his dependable nature, his hardworking spirit, and the love he shared with those closest to him. Whether through the care he gave his grandchildren, the pride he took in his work, or the affection he showed to his beloved dogs, Eugene left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.

Beth McCraw, 71, of Erwin, Tennessee, left our world on July 11, 2026.

Beth was born on November 16, 1954 in Milford, DE. She grew up in Harrington, DE and graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1972. Later in life, she relocated to Tennessee. Her early career was in Finance and Bookkeeping. She later worked in Retail. She was a proud member of the NORML movement in the 1980s and 1990s during which time she was the president of the Delaware chapter of the organization.

Beth’s greatest joy in life was her family and friends. Her favorite pastimes included riding motorcycles, attending concerts, camping, traveling, a good bud, and the infamous “McCraw Poker Nights”, but her greatest memories were always of spending time with her family and friends. A few of her favorite things included butterflies, owls, yellow roses and her fur babies.

Beth is survived by her four children, Mari Beth Williamson of North Carolina, Michelle McCraw of Maryland, Jamie McCraw of Tennessee, and Michael McCraw, Jr. (Chasity) of Tennessee; her eight grandchildren, Adya Mowery (Allen), Dylan Blann (Codie), Branson McCraw, Trevor Mathes, Jada Valentine, Tara Dawn McCraw-Baker, Abby Strange and Michael McCraw, III; her six great grandchildren, Ella, Matrix, Marcella, Jarrod, Silas, and Maddux; her sister, Zena Tucker; her soul sisters, Cindy Sprout and Noreen McFry plus a plethora of nieces, nephews and “adopted” kids and grandkids, Gustavo, Reba, and Erika just to name a few.

Beth was proceeded in death by her beloved mother, Ada Graham, father, Martin Graham, sister, Jeanne Brohawn, baby brother, Clinton B. Graham, her husband, Michael J. McCraw, Sr., and her beloved friends, Marie Brittingham and Cathy Cupp.

A celebration of life in October is being planned for Beth. In lieu of flowers, Beth would have cherished donations to the Anthropological Department of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
