Thank you, Anticancer Lifestyle, for once again sharing my Qigong for the Fire Element practice video and article about Qigong for Summer. Friends and followers: All are welcome to tune in and practice with me!

In a Qigong practice, Summer is the time of the Fire Element. The organs in our body that are related to the Fire element are the heart, the pericardium (the fibrous tissue that protects the heart), the triple heater (which assists in the circulation of bodily fluids and hormones and regulates body temperature), and the small intestine (aka the Fire of Digestion).

When our Fire energy is in balance we feel love, enthusiasm, passion and joy. Out of balance shows up as anxiousness, restlessness, mania, or hysterical behavior. We practice Qigong movements to support the healthy functioning of these organs and develop the positive emotions that are associated with them.

Fire is purification, so let’s shed what no longer serves us, and find freedom in body and mind.

Qigong class meets on Monday evenings at 6:30pm in Indian Land, SC. First class is free, and beginners are welcome. Registration is available via my website, https://www.FlowingRiverQigongandYoga.com

This is a Qigong form to support the Five Elements: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth. It can be done seated for anyone desiring a gentler practice.

Breathe in as the arms move up or out, and breathe out as the arms lower or move in. Gently straighten the knees on the inhale, and gently bend them on the exhale. It is not necessary to fold all the way to the earth for the forward or side bends. Simply bend to your comfort or remain upright as needed.

Keep your mind focused on the breath, and move slowly and gently. Smile, and know you are doing something wonderful for your health!

Qigong classes are available on Monday evenings at 6:30pm in the Edgewater area of Indian Land, SC. Registration is available on my website, and first class is free for new students: https://www.flowingriverqigongandyoga.com/

Inhale up and bring palms to face the sky overhead. Exhale down and bring palms to face up in front of the abdomen. Receive fresh Qi on the inhale and clear stale, toxic Qi on the exhale. Repeat to strenthen lung capacity and function. Stay tuned for Kidney Strenthening for the Water Element.

This is a medley of Qigong movements for the Earth Element. These sequences are grounding, support digestion, and create a sense of peaceful energy to soothe worries and calm an overactive mind.

This video is a sneak peak of just a few of the movements that are typically practiced in class. In-person group lessons are available in Indian Land. First class is free for new students, and beginners are welcome and encouraged.

Qigong is mindful movement that is very healing and is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. The movements are unique and fun to learn. Practicing Qigong relieves stress and pain, regulates the nervous system, and helps you breathe better so you can live a healthier life!
