21 spacious patient rooms, including 2 OB suites, 2 critical care rooms, and 1 hospice family room. The Medical Center also offers over 20 unique specialty physician services through the Outpatient Clinic and performs 14,000 procedures annually utilizing Providence’s laboratory, imaging, and surgical services. In addition to these services, PMC is home to several highly specialized behavior health, rehabilitation therapy, and wellness programs. Providence Medical Center employs over 200 individuals, making it one of the largest employers in Wayne and the surrounding area. This week is Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Awareness Week 🫀Did you know every minute without CPR, the survival rate decreases by 10%? Knowing what to do, along with timely action can significantly improve survival rates!

We are one of 3 American Heart Association Basic Life Support Training Centers in Northeast, Nebraska. Jodie Thompson, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, is the Training Center Coordinator here at PMC and currently has 18 CPR instructors for our training center. She provides CPR and AED classes to local community members, so if you or your organization would like to learn about these life saving measures, contact Jodie at 402-375-7939.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight our Therapy & Wellness Departments as our Department of the Month! 🦽🏋

👨‍🦽‍➡️The Therapy Department provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to patients in the hospital, through home health, and in outpatient settings. They also serve residents at Wakefield Health Care Center, as well as students at Wayne Community Schools and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Schools. Their team is dedicated to helping patients regain function, improve independence, and return to daily activities with confidence.

🚴‍♀️The Wellness Center offers a variety of fitness classes and gym equipment to support the physical well-being of both our community members and employees. In addition to promoting overall wellness, they provides specialized equipment and support for therapy patients, the PAD program, and the Rock Steady Boxing program, which helps individuals with Parkinson’s disease fight back through exercise. Senior Life Solutions at Providence Medical Center is an outpatient group therapy program for adults age 65 and older. The program supports older adults who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, or other emotional challenges related to aging.
